$750 AMD Zen 2 CPU Obliterates $2000 Intel CPU in Leaked Benchmarks

Intel Doesn’t Stand Much of a Chance

There were numerous rumors going around claiming that next-gen AMD Zen 2 CPUs are going to obliterate competing Intel CPUs but, we never got concrete evidence until now. Thanks to Wccftech, we have gotten our hands on Geekbench scores for the next-gen high-end AMD Zen 2 processor.

Zen 2 Outperforms $2000 Intel CPU

We have gotten our hands on Geekbench 4 scores for AMD’s next-gen 7nm high-end Ryzen CPU and it’s going to be an absolute beast. The benchmark was ran on AMD’s test platform and it features 32GB of 4100 MHz RAM but, it says that the boost clock is 4.30 GHz while the reported boost clock on the final product is said to reach 4.70 GHz. This 16 cores/32 threads CPU swept the floor with Intel’s next-gen CPU which costs $1250 more.

Let’s discuss the benchmark scores. The Zen 2 CPU was able to score 5868 single-core and 61072 multi-core. For comparison, the $2000 high-end Intel Core i9-9980XE scored approximately 5300 in the single-core portion and 42000 points in the multi-core portion of the test. This means that for only $750 we will be able to get our hands on a very high-end productivity CPU. With the Ryzen 3000 series CPUs delivering this level of performance at this price point, we can’t even imagine what 7nm Threadripper will be able to accomplish.

Things Looking Bad for Intel

Intel has had a monopoly over the CPU market for a very long time now but, it seems like AMD is going to end that with their next-gen 7nm Ryzen 3000 series CPUs. Right now, Intel’s next-gen 10nm CPUs are years away while Zen 2 is coming out on July 7th hence AMD will most likely capture a very big part of the market from Intel.
