Just recently the Benchmarks for AMD’s upcoming Raven Ridge APUs featuring the Zen CPU & Vega GPU microarchitectures have been release or some may say leaked. They are expected to be released before holidays 2017 somewhere around Dec 2017.

This is the first representation of Ryzen family in mobile platforms and with what we know about Ryzen in gaming world, its expected to bring high performance gaming in lower cost in mobile platforms. Vega graphics architecture is also being released along the ryzen for the first time in an APU Platform. Vega was announced last month and its new.Vega and ryzen are both in 14 NM platform. 14 NM delivers significant performance and power efficiency improvements over the older platform 28nm planar.


AMD Ryzen Mobile APUs Deliver 100% more than the Performance Of Old AMD’s CPUs

AMD has managed to increas its performance in desktop by making a smarter CPU rather than just making it stronger. This is also going to play well in mobile platforms. Smarter CPUs work by learning behaviors and making efficient use out of the most used data processing and files and apps. So in a way they are very individualized in terms of what sort of use the user have. The Ryzen 5 2500U  scored 9723 points in the multi-core part of the Geekbench4 test and 3625 points as single core. In comparison, AMD’s fastest mobile Bristol Ridge A12 9800B part scores nearly half the points in the multi-core test and more than 1200 points less in the single core test. Doubling the performance in a big deal in today processing technology that it seems that the tech giants are stock in increasing the processing speed and power. the first solution was using more CPUs so multi core cpus came to life, but now the next step seems to be processing efficiently.

Intel, on the other hand, has been dominating notebook CPU space with the 8th generation Kaby Lake-R chips by releasing the  Core i5-8250U. The “U” means an ultra-low power CPU for Intel and a standard mobile CPU for AMD. Geekbench scores seem to be in favor of Intel and not AMD. High end laptops like Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC already sport AMD Ryzen CPUs. AMD seems to be aiming at mainstream gaming market, Ryzen APU laptops are expected to become mainstream before the end of 2017. Lets wait and see what AMD has to offer in 2017.

HTC is making a VR headset that doesn’t use a phone or a PC

The new VR headset will be called HTC Vive Focus. HTC Vive focus will have a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 to power the experience. The VR headset will be robust compared to smartphones. The strongest phone that uses the Snapdragon 835 is the Note 8, so the headset will be pretty powerful compared to other smartphones.

Thanks to LetsGoDigital we have learned the name of the headset. It will be called HTC Vive Focus.

HTC has registered the headset for the US and EU, and it will probably be announced soon. The headset uses “WorldSense” to make sure you don’t hit something while playing it. The headset tracks motion too. WorldSense is a cool technology, and a lot of gamers will want to try it out. 


Note that the headset will not compete with the HTC Vive and it will not be able to play coll VR games on Steam, Google Play will power the headset. The headset will deliver a better experience than the Google cardboard, but it will not be the same as HTC Vive or PS VR. It is the first VR headset that doesn’t require anything.

How does the Optane memory actually work?

Intel  Optane  memory was announced in March 2017 and is now available to purchase at stores. “With the increased speed and responsiveness of Intel® Optane™ memory in a 7th Generation Intel Core processor-based system, users can do more with their system, without sacrificing the value and capacity of a hard disk drive.” Intel claimed in their website and news conferences. But how it actually is going to help and how does it work to increase performance? Intel has claimed repeatedly that “Games and levels will load faster too – up to 67 percent faster game launch and up to 65 percent faster level load”

Intel optane is actually is to work like a ram and temporary that bridges between hard-drive and data processes, the only difference is that it is not temporary. Optane holds to data and keeps is on so you do not even lose data like a loaded game if you turn off the PC or even just get out of the game. It learns how the data is being used and keeps the track of user behavior in data the user use. So it can be described as a ram that doe not really lose data and is not temporary.

Optane project code name is 3D XPoint and devised by Intel and Micron. The structure that is generally believed to use some kind of change in resistance to record data, but its performance characteristics and technical capabilities make it appealing for a wide range of applications and specially video games as the giant running apps with huge data loads. One of the most important characteristics of Optane is the capacity. its promising up to about 500 GB in near future. Imaging haming 500 GB of ram, thats dreamy and is very expensive not only because you have to buy a lot of ram but you also need a lot of power and very high end mother board and so on just to support such a large amount of ram memory.

Intel’s Optane Memory modules can be thought as an alternative to solid-state storage with a solution that’s less expensive when you are packing your new gaming pc or trying to upgrade some parts. One of the most important areas that intel is aiming by this product is PC gaming with many gamers having to choose between fast (SSD) and capacious (HDD) storage solutions, but not able to get both without spending a small fortune. Actually one of the issues all PC gamers have while buy a new pc is how to come up with an economic and high performance storage option. its not only between SSD and HDD but also about RAM.  Techradar recently did a test and reported that the have about 50% less load time after turning off the game.


Wait times were reduced by 15%, while time loading a saved game state was brought down by a whopping 46%.




The Intel Optane has bought some time for the old HDDs to retire by this memory load boost. HDDs are for a long time set to  be out and anybody expect a price drop in SDDs market after that but not they may even linger around more cause many people that are going for low budget- high performance pc gaming can now realistically think about just upgrading to Optane for high performance and using a huge set of HDD for permanent storage.

Intel has had other forms of SSD caching befor optane, like Smart Response Technology (SRT), which utilized up to a 64GB SSD cache. One most importante issue with regular caching is that chaching requires having the data you’re accessing in the cache before it work , that means the first time you use an game or app it will usually feel like you’re going straight to a hard drive because you are and you will even with optane. But in optane its the system that starts to learn your usage patterns, critical and commonly used files end up in the faster cache and improve overall system responsiveness. It keep most used data, most used file, most used patterns games based on your behaviors so it is already loaded “WHEN YOU TRY IT AGAIN”. Optane has also moved from  SATA-based connectivity to a much faster M.2 x4 PCIe connection.

So you have your olad data you always use already loaded and ready to work with and it does not go away even when you turn your pc off. In some way it is like the new Ryzen technology by AMD in CPUs and processing. Ryzen also keeps track of behaviors, data loads and file and process results and analysis and makes them useful  when being used again. The AMD Ryzen Platform also is reported to reduce time load and Processing speed by about 40 %.



Intel Optane Availability for gamers

Intel Optane memory module is not only to bring fast performing data storage but also cheaper and more affordable options than ram and they are now out at 16GB (MSRP $44) and 32GB ($77) capacities. Some OEM systems with Intel® Optane™ memory already installed will be available later in the year. AMD and the new Ryzen

AMD is trying to enter the whole market with its new platform “The Ryzen”.  AMD is releasing Ryzen CPUs both in entry level market by 4 cores CPUs like AMD RYZEN 5 and high-end market like Threadripper series that goes up to 16 cores.  It is hard to believe that AMD is becoming competitive in high end market because in the past inlet has been the dominating one without a real rival in that market. Now AMD is coming back strong.

AMD’s 16 core, 32 thread Ryzen Threadripper 1950X is finally here to seize the throne for high end desktop processors. & Intel’s core i9-7900X, from the Skylake-X series, is Intel’s latest 10-core, 20-thread flagship processor. It’s the first to bear the i9 moniker and utilize the new X299 (Basin Falls) chipset/motherboard.


AMD has also shown some strength in mid-range market with Ryzen 7 1800X challenging the popular CPUs from intel Core i7-7700K & Intel Core i7-6900K. The Ryzen Platform

Well for the people familiar with how a whole platform works its clear that AMD has been planning this for years. This is not a 6 month project and a one night announcement to show off. Ryzen is a big deal and now after about 6 month that it has been released its getting more serious. AMD’s high-performance x86 Core “Zen” architecture Is the basis of the whole Ryzen Platform. As Amd claimed it delivers >52% improvement in instructions-per-clock cycle over the previous generation AMD core, without increasing power. It started with introducing one mother board cheap and 3 CPUs  and now AMD has just released AMD Ryzen 5 for high performance gaming and also released the Ryzen Threadripper series witch is the higher and advanced level of the Ryzen platform. Threadripper Goes From 8 to 16 cores, Up to 32 processing threads From 20MB to 40MB  of cache and AMD says you can afford it. All this shows that AMD is ALL-In by Ryzen.

Eight cores and 16 threads for under $500 means that they’re Very strong across a wide range of workloads and very cheap for what they stand for. Finally, an architecture that can compete But not in gaming. AMD promised a substantial improvement in instructions per cycle (IPC), and the expectation was that Ryzen would be within striking distance of Intel’s Broadwell core. Now Broadwell is old and came in September 2014. Intel’s high-core-count processors, both the High End Desktop parts, with six, eight, or 10 cores, and the various Xeon processors for multisocket servers, are all still using Broadwell cores. Nobody should have expected Ryzen to be a dangerous rival in gaming. Now Intel’s Skylake and Kaby Lake parts both beat Broadwell in a wide range of games.

Do not misinterpret this, Ryzen is a very strong CPU series for gaming. But at the same time it is interesting that Skylake and Kaby Lake are both limited to four cores and eight threads but for many or most games, high IPC and high clock speeds are the key to top performance, and that’s precisely what Kaby Lake delivers. While AMD is as always delivering tremendous multi-core experience specially with the 16 cores Threadripper, but still lacking the clock speed in single CPU performance to become number one in gaming.

Right now Vega 64 costs $499, and Vega 56 costs $399. Ryzen’s price is gonna go raise $100 because of AMD !!


AMD is going to raise Vega 56 and 64 $100. Gibbo [overclockers staff] said, “Now the good and bad news, the good news is AMD are rebating early launch sales to allow us to hit £449.99 on the stand alone black card which has no games. This is a launch only price which AMD at present are saying will be withdrawn in the near future, when if it happens is unknown, but remember do not be shocked if the price jumps nearly £100 in a few days.” That is terrible news for AMD because right now Vega 64 is performing like a GTX 1080, and You can pickup a GTX 1080 for $530. Vega 56 will cost $499 but Vega 56 plays just like a GTX 1070, and you can buy a GTX 1070 for $439. That makes Nvidia the GPU king again considering Vega costs more, Vega performs the same as the 1070/108, and it takes a LOT of energy to run it. What people want to know is it worth it to purchase a PC ?? I mean a $500 4k console is coming. Today we are going to compare a 4k gaming PC to the Xbox One X.A PC that runs every game at 4k ultra 60fps costs A LOT of money. The Xbox One X is not going to run every game at actual 4k. It will run most games at 1080p ultra 60 or 30 FPS. So I am not going to compare PC that runs every game at 4k ultra 60fps to the Xbox One X. 

How much is a 4k PC

My PC costs $1322.03 my specs are: Gtx 1070 gaming x, Core I 7 7700k, Z270 gaming pro mobo, and 16gb of ram. SkuezTech benchmarked a PC with similar specs to me, and this is what he/she got [all the games are at ultra settings and 4k] Overwatch: 72 FPS, Witcher 3 [HairWorks off]: 42 FPS, Star Wars Battlefront: 40 FPS, Far Cry Primal: 27, Ashes of singularity: 48 FPS, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 39 FPS, The Division: 30 FPS, and Doom: 44 FPS. The Gtx 1070 can handle games at 4k ultra. Now we are going to try to make the price lower. Instead of an 850w power supply, we can buy a 600w power supply that will reduce our price to $1257.15. Instead of buying an I7 7700k we can get an I5 7600 that will barely affect our PCs performance. Our price will drop to $1158.65. Instead of the Z270 gaming pro mobo, we can get GIGABYTE GA B250M motherboard also we wouldn’t need a Cpu fan because the I57600 comes with a fan. Now our price is $1041.66. Instead of 16gb of ram, we can get 8gb because 16gb isn’t needed for gaming. Now our price is $974.46. The case, HDD, and the power supply are pretty good, so our finale price is $974.46. How does the Xbox One X hold up against the beast PC?

I think that the PC is stronger than the Xbox One X considering that it has been confirmed that the Xbox One X isn’t going to run 3rd party games at real 4k, and some games like Ark Survival Evolved will run at 1080p and Killing Floor 2 is going to run at 1800p. According to the benchmarks that Microsoft reviled, Xbox One X ran 1st party games like Gears of War 4 at 4k and got 38 FPS and  Forza 7 at 4k 91 FPS. Star Wars Battlefront ran at 38 FPS on 4k, but a PC that is very similar to ours runs the game at 4k Ultra 40-50 FPS average, but on gears of war four our PC got the same results as the Xbox One X.



Xbox One X is very powerful, but it wouldn’t run every game at 4k. In my opinion, it is worth it to buy a PC, because in the long run you will pay less and you can upgrade your PC when ever you want. I mean in 2-3 years we are probably going to see Xbox One X crusher PCs videos on YouTube. When that happens, a PC owner that bought their PC in 2017 can just get a better GPU, or get the same GPU and run it on SLI but a person that bought an Xbox One X has to wait for the next Xbox to come out or spend $500 to get new a PC.

In June, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) launched its new GeForce NOW service in beta to Mac users (available to PC users at a later time). For those who do not know about this, GeForce NOW allows gamers to play select games streamed from a virtual, high-performance PC in the cloud only by streaming. This innovative idea can help gamers with outdated hardware enjoy the wonders of PC gaming. Basically let gamers enjoy gaming in low end PCs or even tablets and phones in near future and in horizons of the project.  NVIDIA’S GEFORCE NOW  is very simple to setup and start gaming right away, basically is just internet. Users download the client app from NVIDIA, and they can immediately download purchased games from digital stores, including Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay, or GOG.

The other aspect of this is that! The real strategy behind GeForce NOW maybe!!! NVIDIA estimates there are more than 200 million GeForce users around the world, and its average selling price for its graphics cards is $180 per unit. That works out to over $30 billion worth of revenue. Of course, NVIDIA isn’t going to suddenly generate that much revenue in one year from its gaming segment. But have in mind that it is the potential market and many of these people do not ever buy new products until the one in use breaks. So a portion of the market is inactive and this maybe a solution to make them join the NOW by much lower cost for gaming.

For NVIDIA to generate significant revenue from GeForce NOW, it would need tens of millions of users to sign up at least, which is far from certain right now.  But in the long term, the most beneficial outcome for NVIDIA may be to have customers buy actual GeForce graphics cards for their own PCs rather than rely on the revenue from customers who pay by the hour to use a cloud streaming service. It’s easy for gamers to simply stop paying the $25 for GeForce NOW access.

On the other hand, the software features and support tools NVIDIA makes available for customers who own a GeForce graphics card create a very sticky product for gamers. GeForce graphics cards can behave much like a video game console, encouraging players to pony up for regular generational upgrades. GeForce NOW is a great tool to introduce people to PC gaming and expand the market. But considering the cost and the problems with responsiveness in gameplay, users who really want to dig into PC gaming may be better off investing in the actual hardware. NVIDIA will forge stronger relationships with gamers who go this route, creating loyal customers in the process.

Worldwide revenue for the augmented-reality and virtual-reality market is projected to grow to more than $162 billion in 2020, from $5.2 billion in 2016, driven largely by gaming consoles and mobile virtual-reality headsets and experiences, according to IDC, a research firm.

But in the very first steps of development Virtual reality still faces hurdles in gaming. The industry is still working out how to deal with the nausea that some people feel after they put on an immersive virtual-reality headset, for example. “There are lots of fundamental issues V.R. hasn’t worked out, such as nausea or how our body actually moves and reacts,” said Mattie Brice, an associate director at IndieCade, an international festival highlighting the work of innovative independent game developers. “V.R. has to figure out what’s unique about it besides being immersive, a consumer product buzzword for every advancement since games went 3-D.”

New games and new devices are coming . The flood of new video games is an important marker for virtual reality. Even as the hype over the technology has outrun its actual adoption, the video gaming industry has continued to pour money and resources into embracing virtual reality, cementing its development and advancement — at least in the near term.

“The dream of virtual reality was born in our industry when we created the first virtual worlds,” said Michael D. Gallagher, president and chief executive of the Entertainment Software Association, a trade group for video game companies. “It’s only natural our industry’s passionate and creative innovators, who share that dream, would lead the way in the development of virtual reality.”

Virtual reality has to date disappointed in many areas. Sales of some of the most capable virtual-reality headsets, which put people into an immersive environment, have been somewhat sluggish. Various industries have dabbled with virtual reality — and are still only dabbling. Even Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive of Facebook, who was a huge proponent of virtual reality and bought Oculus VR for more than $2 billion several years ago, admitted in January that turning the technology into a new computing platform was tougher than he had expected.

“These things end up being more complex than you think upfront,” Mr. Zuckerberg said at the time. “If anything, we may have to invest even more money to get to the goals we had than we had thought upfront.”

Can Project Scorpio deliver on its promises ?



Can Project Scorpio do true 4k gaming.

Project Scorpio Will lunch at holiday 2017 according to Microsoft. Will it deliver true 4k gaming well Microsoft says it has 6 Teraflops of power and a 8 core Cpu. The Cpu is probably a Amd Ryzen 7 1700 Some people say it would cost $600 but I think it is gonna cost $400-$500. The closes Gpu to 6 Teraflops is a Gtx 1070 with 6.5 Teraflops.

As you know Amd Ryzen hasn’t been released yet so the benchmark uses an I7 6700k. When I get my new gaming Pc I am gonna release my own benchmarks at 4k I might buy a I7 7700k or a Ryzen 7 1700.

So can Project Scorpio handle 4k gaming ? Well I can’t answer right now because Project Scorpio will be released in holiday 2017 so like 2018. I don’t know if in 2018 the new games could be much more deamending  but what ever happens Don’t expect to play every game ultra 4k 60 fps . Expect to play games at 4k medium-high settings 30 fps.

As you can see you can get the same performance as an high end $1000 Cpu with $500. I am defiantly gonna try to get the 1700 or 1700x.
