Horizon: Zero Dawn had co-op the early prototype map was 50x bigger

Horizon: Zero Dawn has co-op but it was cut from the game

Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of the most popular games of 2017. It made pretty much every top 10 lists of 2017. Horizon: Zero Dawn was definitely one of the best Sony PS 4 games of 2017. Horizon: Zero Dawn got a near perfect score from pretty much every reviewer. Horizon Zero Dawn sold an estimated 4 million units worldwide in a short while. PS 4 gamers were waiting for Horizon: Zero Dawn to be released. The wait was definitely worth it Horizon: Zero Dawn looks very good considering that it is on a PS 4 and it looks even better on the PS 4 Pro. It would’ve definitely been very fun to play Horizon: Zero Dawn but apparently it was taken out to keep a larger feature.

In an interview with the YouTube channel NoClip Horizon Zero Dawn’s director De Jonge said that the team was thinking about a two-player co-op in their early prototypes. He said that the looked very nice in Co-op and it was nice to see it. He said, “But we haven’t got that [in the final version] because the programmers basically said that if we wanted to have co-op, we would also have 50% of the features we had been asking for and not 100%. With Horizon: Zero Dawn being the first game [in the franchise], we wanted 100%, so we dropped co-op in favor of that.” Apparently, when they were making the game the map was 50 times bigger than the map that we have now but they made it a lot tinier because the art team said that it’s not possible to fill that huge map with content. It would’ve been very sweet to get such a huge map but most gamers said that they’d rather play in a tiny map with a little bit of content instead of a huge map without any life. Right now you can purchase Horizon Zero Dawn for $59.99 for the PS 4.
