Square Enix: AMD users aren’t left out from Final Fantasy XV worked with Intel/AMD

Square Enix says that AMD users aren’t left out from Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition

Final Fantasy XV was one of the best games of 2016 but PC gamers were left out of all the fun. Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition was recently announced and it’s going to be released on March 6th. The PC version of the game has improved graphics and some limited modding tools for PC gamers to enjoy. According to what we have heard from Square Enix the wait is going to be worth it for PC gamers. It was also announced that Square Enix is working with Nvidia on Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition so that had many AMD GPU owners worried that the game will have very poor optimization for AMD graphic cards. Square Enix knows about that and they have responded to the worried AMD owners.

In an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun Square Enix said, “Nvidia became involved probably at the beginning of 2016. We decided that we wanted to use Nvidia’s GameWorks tools to really add in some of the high level graphical enhancements to the game, so we were working with them from quite early on. We also had Intel and AMD help us with a lot of their optimization, too, but Nvidia was on board from very early on.

I think there’s obviously a number of features that Nvidia’s suite provides us with that are limited to them and they very much keep them for their own cards, like Ansel and the ShadowPlay Highlights. But some of the other features that they offer, like HairWorks and the Turf Effects we’ve very much worked on that to make it work efficiently on AMD hardware as well, so they will be able to get a pretty good and enjoyable experience. They’re not left out at all.”

Shadowplay highlights is a very useful feature for Nvidia users. This feature automatically records and saves important parts of your gameplay for example in Fortnite if you play with a Nvidia GPU that works with Shadowplay Highlights all of your kills and deaths will be saved. Many other developers have said similar things but the company that they worked with had better performance than other companies in this case Nvidia and AMD. In Rise of the Tombraider Nvidia GPUs perform better than AMD GPUs but in Hitman AMD GPUs perform better. This doesn’t mean that you can play Rise of The Tombraider with an AMD GPU but with a Nvidia GPU you will get a slight performance boost.
