Hacking has been of the biggest online gaming issues of all time. Hackers are the nightmare of every online gamer. The most annoying thing to happen to a gamer is when your playing a competitive online game like Fortnite and you’re in the top 5, then a hacker one shots you from 200 meters away with a sniper. Gaming companies have been trying to fix the hacking issue for ages but unfortunately, hackers always find a way around the security. Right now, if you want to get your self-free free GTA Online money all you have to do is search up GTA Online hack and then download the latest version. A lot of the hackers don’t even get banned. What a lot of these gamers don’t understand is that downloading hacks is very dangerous. Although it might seem like it’s working the file could easily spread a dangerous malware through your system that could ruin your PC. This happened to thousands of PC gamers that downloaded a hack that promised free V-bucks and aimbot but instead got a malware spread through their system.
According to research done by Rainway, when you installed the hack it automatically installed a self-signed root that is able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack on your PC. Rainway researchers wrote,
“We then spun up a virtual machine and ran the hack, it immediately installed a root certificate on the device and changed Windows to proxy all web traffic through itself. A successful Man in the Middle Attack.
Now, the adware began altering the pages of all web request to add in tags for Adtelligent and voila…”
The creator of this malware took it down but they also confirmed that the hack had been downloaded more than 78,000 times. A lot of these malwares aren’t going to be noticeable to the average user so they continue running and taking advantage of your PC while you have absolutely no idea. This is why gamers shouldn’t download hacks as the hacks might end up hacking their own system. Some hacks are even worst, for example, they encrypt your PC’s hard drive so you will have to pay them a few hundred Dollars to get a code to unlock your PC.
