Splatoon 2 is Having a Hacker Breakout, Hackers Hacking the Game to ask for better anti-cheat

Splatoon 2 Pretty Much has no Anti-Cheat Right Now

Hacking is the biggest issue in most online games. When developers release new games they are usually filled with annoying hackers that ruin the game for everyone else in that lobby. In online FPS games, hacking is a big issue. The Nintendo Wii U was the first time that Nintendo implemented a somewhat modern online system into their software. Nintendo is trying to continue the same system with the Nintendo Switch, and although it has many issues such as having to use your phone for voice chat its better nothing. Recently hackers have been jumping onto Nintendo’s competitive FPS Splatoon 2 and using hacks to cheat their way to victory.

Right now Nintendo doesn’t have an anti-cheat program. They rely on players to report cheaters through the Splatnet app which isn’t a good system. Most games have some sort of an automatic system that will automatically ban hackers. In other games, developers usually start rolling out very frequent updates to battle with the modders but Nintendo seems like they don’t even care. The situation has gotten so bad that someone hacked Splatoomn 2 so they can ask Nintendo to ban hackers.

A modder who goes by the name “PleaseAddAntiCheat” on Reddit did this to tell Nintendo to do something about the hackers. Apparently, Nintendo saw this Tweeted and banned PleaseAddAntiCheat’s accounts from Splatoon 2 multiplayer. PleaseAddAntiCheat wrote, “looks like it took them a while to get to all of my accounts. But can confirm my console is now 2124-4027.” The massage 2124-4027 is displayed on Nintendo Switch consoles that have been service restricted.
