Sea of Thieves’ new record, Surpassing 5 Million Players Across Windows 10 and Xbox One

Sea of Thieves has Been Doing Really Well

Sea of Thieves isn’t the most popular video game of all time but it seems like it has been a success for Rare. Sea of Thieves was somewhat disappointing to many fans when it came out but Rare has been trying to fix the issues with frequent updates. It seems like the updates got a lot of people to buy the game as it has now surpassed 5 million players across the Xbox One and PC

In a recent blog post-Microsfot wrote, “Being able to share that we’ve welcomed more than five million players to Sea of Thieves since launch is both inspiring and humbling. Home to players from all over the world, the thriving Sea of Thieves community includes an army of content creators who have helped the game rack up 300M views on YouTube and more than 40M live broadcast hours on Twitch. Seeing our creative community embrace the possibilities that Sea of Thieves presents is an inspiration to everyone at the studio, and on behalf of us all at Rare, I’d like to thank everyone who’s been a part of this amazing adventure”

Sea of Thieves generated a lot of hype but the lack of content and proper progression drove many fans away from the series. Usualy in multiplayer games, when you level up and get better you also get new and stronger items to use but in Sea of Thieves, it’s very different. In Sea of Thieves, everyone has the same exact gear, no matter how long you have been playing. The only progresstion is the cosmetic items that you can buy with coins earned through completing missions. Rare wants players to rely on experience and skills to win battles not better items but that just doesn’t do it for many gamers as the real sense of progression and reward isn’t there.

Sea of Thieves isn’t all bad though. It’s really fun when played with friends. You and three other friends can go on an adventure across the vast oceans fighting enemy ships and completing quests.
