ASUS is now preparing Radeon RX 590 ROG STRIX graphics card

ASUS is bringing back ROG STRIX brand for Radeon RX series, ASUS Radeon RX 590 ROG STRIX Gaming

Videocardz is reporting that the information came from the same source that told them about AREZ brand before it went live. Our source claim that ASUS is bringing back ROG STRIX brand for Radeon RX series. The RX 590 graphics card will clearly feature 8GB memory as indicated by the product code.

It seems like the Radeon RX590 will be a refresh of Polaris architecture (judging from 2000 MHz/8Gbps memory clock) not a platform upgrade. Not sure what will happen to AREZ brand from asus, but the ROG STRIX model is clearly in the works, so the ‘GPP brand’ might be axed soon. The full product code for the new graphics card:

An entry for the upcoming AMD Polaris 30-based Radeon RX 590 has been spotted on 3DMark by noted leakster TUM_APISAK. We are now seeing the first leaked 3DMark Time Spy score of a new ‘Radeon RX 590‘ GPU making its way to the 3DMark database and getting official step by step.

An entry for the upcoming AMD Polaris 30-based Radeon RX 590 has been spotted on 3DMark by noted leakster TUM_APISAK. The new RX 590 is shown to sport higher clocks and is said to be using the same GDDR5 memory subsystem as the current Polaris 20 cards. Overall, the leaked benchmark shows conservative performance improvements over the RX 580.

The database entry shows the RX 590 to have a 1,545 MHz base clock — 205 MHz higher than the RX 580’s boost. The memory clock is indicated to be 2,000 MHz, which is a bit unfortunate as it means that the older GDDR5 memory will still be used. AMD could have actually done everyone a favor by including newer memory options such as GDDR5X at the very least.
