Does Mobile First Update will have Effect on Your Business?

Does Mobile First Indexing will have Effect on Your Business?

Lets write few words about how important is this update and what kind of effect will have on small businesses across the Globe.

Nothing new that from March 2018 ,Google announced Mobile First Update.

They also told the wider audience that this update will go on stages.

But as nothing new ,Google didn’t keep own word and roll out started in end of November 2018 which hit a lot of businesses especially small businesses who targeted local audience.

This is how in Google land on 3 position of net worth in 2018 according Statista.

Maybe this go well for them but not for small businesses.

They applied new Google algorithm on company level and leave the individuals blog and this situation is on.

They forced SMB’s to go for so called “local SEO” or map signing on Google Maps for better rankings and with that more organic traffic.

Lets check some statistics about SMB’s

About 40% from whole number of small businesses from the USA don’t have any kind digital marketing budget or spend any money for any kind of action on their website.

There are numerous reasons about that but most important is not having money.

Many of them don’t have money or planned budget, so they go for Google Maps Rankings as one of major factors for local business search rankings.

But this is not enough.

Too late they realize that they must seek professional help for theirs websites and this cost them money.

The minimum price is 1k and up for getting Local SEO Search Rankings.

But there is still problem, maybe 95% of the websites still are not ranking on wanted positions although maybe they are belong on some unsaturated niche or niche without hard competition but are not ranking.

They didn’t get any traffic.

Whats the reason?

Well ,starting from point that maybe now 70% of whole traffic on Google and other networks come from mobile phones and tablets, its obvious is that if you don’t have mobile friendly website then don’t expect traffic.

About 400 mill small businesses have old ,outdated websites which is huge number as market share which covers about 40% from whole number of small businesses.

So its quite simple.

No mobile friendly website is equal to NO TRAFFIC.

This give you basically answer of our topic and this is that Mobile First Update or Indexing will and now have huge impact on traffic and rankings of small business owners websites.

So smb’s today are in race with time which will cost them a lot of money.

They need to pay for upgrades, better and faster hosting and best yet, optimized website from SEO point and Mobile version of their websites.

They misunderstand to have native app or just mobile friendly websites.

Native mobile App,mobile friendly and mobile responsive are entirely different things.

Because of this SMB’s gets in trap.

Every SMB’s will cost about 3-4k in USD just for start, even if you took cheaper options to get your job you must pay 2k minimum and plus on top every year about 1.5k for maintenance, hosting and updates.

The final result will be a huge amount spent and no results.

Wait, SMB’s don’t rush immediately, because rushing will lead to spending small fortune to get in straight your online website.

Someone will think that some website builders as Wix , SquareSpace  will solve their problems or WordPress.

But they are dead wrong.

Just look reviews on internet from small business for above names how they performed for small business.

Before to decide what small business needs to do, must have into consideration few factors as:

  • fast page speed (notice that we don’t talk about speed of hosting)
  • offered HTTPS certificates from authority certificate holder (notice that here don’t talk about hosting owned certificates)
  • On-Page SEO integrated module (Yoast plugins and others to put your website in full mode you must pay monthly fees which can easily go over 100$ per month for plugin only, imagine how much you will pay monthly for whole website)
  • mobile friendly website for free (majority website builders named as above offer mobile responsive design, but many who have fooled them self is that Google in his update want mobile friendly websites which is entirely different from responsive design)
  • Accelerated Mobile Pages or AMP which is baby of Google (what do you think ,which websites will rank faster and get more traffic).

Again when you search this have these conditions in mind.

Maybe I’m marketing guy but few are offering this ,so many small businesses are looking Alternatives to WordPress.
