Minecraft Tops Fortnite in Google Trends For the First Time in a Year and a Half! Is Fortnite Beginning to Fade Away Like PUBG?

Things Don’t Look Good for Epic Games

Minecraft

Before Fortnite got popular the only big battle royal game in the market was PUBG which was making Bluehole billions and billions of Dollars and it became the top played game on Steam very fast. When Fortnite battle royal was released it started gaining traction due to the fact that many big streamers started regularly playing the game live and the game brought something new to the genre and stole a lot of PUBG’s player base. Gamers were beginning to get bored of PUBG as the game didn’t get new content a lot so they quickly jumped to Fortnite which was way more polished and got new content regularly. Fortnite began to steal Minecraft’s player base as well and the game started losing players very fast but now, the tables have turned and Minecraft is back on top!

Minecraft Tops Fortnite on Google Trends

For the first time since the week of Jan 14th to Jan 20th Minecraft was able to pass FOrtnote on Google Trends meaning that Minecraft was searched more times then Fortnite. Minecraft passed Fortnite back in the week of June 23rd to June 29th and the number of Minecraft searches have been going up ever since. In the week of July 21st-July 27th Minecraft was searched 60% more than Fortnite which is a worrying sign for Epic Games as it means that Fortnite may fade away just like PUBG did.

Is Fortnite Going to Fade Away?

Fortnite is most likely not going to die as the game still has millions of fans around the world. Epic Games is always adding new content to the game which means that gamers keep jumping back into the Fortnite island to play around with the new vehicles, guns, etc.
