Niantic is making a new Harry Potter game

We haven’t seen a new Harry Potter game for a long time. EA made 8 Harry Potter games based on the movies, and they weren’t very successful. Lego made a few Harry Potter gamers too, but EA invested more money into Harry Potter. Pottermore says they are making many new Harry Potter games and one of them is an AR Harry Potter game being developed by Niantic and Warner Bros.

Niantic has announced an AR Harry Potter game called Harry Potter Wizards Unite. According to Niantic players will be able to live in JK Rowling’s fictional world. Gamers will be able to learn spells and look around in their neighborhood to discover, team up with other wizards or witches to fight legendary monsters from the Harry Potter world. The Harry Potter series sold very well, and they made JK Rowling the first person to become a millionaire by writing books. The Harry Potter series sold 555 million copies, and for that reason, there were many video games based off of Harry Potter. EA, Sony, Microsoft, and Lego made Harry Potter games. EA MAde 8 Harry Potter games based on the Harry Potter movies (8 Harry Potter games in total.) Lego published 4 Harry Potter games, 2 were part of the  LEGO Creator series, and the other two were based on the movies. The Harry Potter, LEGO Creator games, didn’t sell well but Harry Potter years 1-4 LEGO game and 5-7 LEGO game got good reviews and sold relatively well. Niantic is the first company to release a Harry Potter game in years.
