Today is a very good day for Harry Potter fans. Niantic announced a new AR Harry Potter game, and now we have heard new Harry Potter games are going to be released under Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s new label Portkey games. Niantic is working with Warner Bros to bring Harry Potter’s fictional world to the real world. The game will be called Harry Potter Wizards Unite.

According to Pottermore Portkey games will allow Harry Potter fans to go inside the Wizarding World and play their adventure. Portkey games will make games for mobile and console games. The games might enable gamers to play as “familiar” Harry Potter characters at different times in their lives. The games will also feature new locations, characters, new story, and more. According to David Haddad (Warner Bros. president), the games will feature player made stories. The Harry Potter series sold very well, and they made JK Rowling the first person to become a millionaire by writing books. The Harry Potter series sold 555 million copies, and for that reason, there were many video games based off of Harry Potter. EA, Sony, Microsoft, and Lego made Harry Potter games. EA MAde 8 Harry Potter games based on the Harry Potter movies (8 Harry Potter games in total.) Lego published 4 Harry Potter games, 2 were part of the  LEGO Creator series, and the other two were based on the movies. The Harry Potter, LEGO Creator games, didn’t sell well but Harry Potter years 1-4 LEGO game and 5-7 LEGO game got good reviews and sold relatively well. Niantic is the first company to release a Harry Potter game in years.
