Respawn Entertainment has made many games with EA, but they weren’t actually owned by EA until two days ago. Respawn Entertainment created Titanfall 2 and the original Titanfall; Respawn Entertainment worked with EA to make these games. EA has announced they bought Respawn Entertainment along with Titanfall. Respawn Entertainment isn’t the first company that EA bought, but when fans heard the news, they thought this might mean the end of Titanfall. Fans thought that because EA has bought many other companies, then they shut down the company and all of the there projects. EA bought Visceral Games then they closed the company and moved the Star Wars project to EA Vancouver, and EA delayed it.

Respawn Entertainment’s CEO (Vince Zampella) told VentureBeat he is not worried and he still believes Respawn Entertainment still has the “creative freedom.” He said they are still Respawn Entertainment, and they are going to make new games, and EA would not change their way of making games. Zampella said Respawn fans should trust them and they are doing the best thing for their company and games. According to Zampella EA isn’t affecting Respawn in any way, and it’s a “contract with EA.”

2 days ago in a press release, EA said they are buying Respawn Entertainment. EA might have to pay up to $455 million if Respawn hits its target earnout. The deal will have $151 million in cash, $164 million in stock grants for Respawn, and a changeable earnout of $140 million. In a post Company CEO Vince Zampella said they didn’t have to join EA, but it made sense for them to join EA. HE says EA supports Respawn and doesn’t change their way of making games. He says joining EA will give them access to better tech and resources to make better games.
