AMD 7nm Navi to Capture Low-End/Mid-End GPU Market From Nvidia RTX/GTX

These are the Latest AMD Navi Leaks and Rumors

Right now Nvidia controls most of the gaming GPU market. Most pre-built gaming PCs feature Nvidia GPUs as AMD GPUs are either too weak and outdated or, overpriced. RX Vega is AMD’s most powerful GPU but, it’s overpriced and doesn’t perform that well when compared to Nvidia GPUs around the same price point. AMD’s next-gen 7nm GPUs are going to be announced at CES 2019 and we have gotten a lot of rumors about Navi.

AMD Navi Latest Rumors

According to the latest rumors from two credible sources, we know that AMD is going to release three different AMD Navi GPU series. First, we are going to see Navi 12 (RX 3060, RX 3070) and Navi 10 (RX 3080) this year with Navi 20 coming out next year. The lower-end Navi cards, RX 3060 and RX 3070 are going to cost $129.99 and $200 while the RX 3080 is going to cost you $250. The AMD RX 3060 and RX 3070 are going to perform like the RX 580 and Vega 56. The AMD RX 3080 is going to perform %15 better than Vega 64. This means that the RX 3080 is going to perform like the $500 Nvidia RTX 2070.

AMD to Capture the Low-End and Mid-End GPU Market

It seems like AMD is not going to be entering the high-end gaming market with Navi in 2019 but, AMD is going to give Nvidia a run for their money in the low-end and mid-end gaming market. If these rumors are true and the RX 3080 costs $250, Nvidia has no chance. AMD’s $250 RX 3080 is going to be able to compete and in some cases surpass Nvidia’s $500 RTX 2070. Of course, Navi isn’t going to have ray tracing but, is ray tracing worth $250 extra?

The AMD RX 580 performs a little better than the Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB in gaming benchmarks so, the RX 3060 is going to crush the competition if it does cost $129.99 and performs like the RX  580. Right now, the GTX 1060 6GB will cost you $230 so, the RX 3060 will save you $100 and it will deliver the same performance. Also, Navi is going to be based on a 7nm architecture so it’s going to run a lot cooler than Nvidia GPUs.
