AMD And INTEL Team-up in 2018, Is It A Move Against NVIDIA?
Intel Is going to Make A Ultra-thin Core chip made by AMD Radeon Graphics – GPUs

Intel and AMD’s first partnership since the 1980s, as The Wall Street Journal notes. This something you do not hear so often is AMD and Intel working together. The partnership will pit the two companies against competitor Nvidia. AMD’s Radeon graphics next year to be placed and shipped on thin-and-light notebook market alongside Intel CPU. PCWORLD is reporting that AMD and Intel are to co-design an Intel Core microprocessor with a custom AMD Radeon graphics core inside the processor package. Rivals Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are teaming up to produce a laptop computer chip that uses an Intel processor and an AMD graphics unit. As mentioned before, Executives from both AMD and Intel has told PCWorld that the combined AMD-Intel chip will be an “evolution” of Intel’s 8th-generation, H-series Core chips, with the ability to power-manage the entire module to preserve battery life. It’s scheduled to ship as early as the first quarter of 2018. Though both companies has worked on engineering the new chip, mainly this is Intel’s project and Intel first approached AMD, both companies confirmed. AMD is making the Radeon core as a single, semi-custom design like how consoles like the Microsoft Xbox One X and Sony Playstation 4 has worked with AMD. Intel saying that it is to to be a single product, though it may eventually be offered at a range of clock speeds. Nvidia has not been so strong in light weight GPU markets and intel in many cases tends to use intel hd graphics for that level of performance but going for AMD over Nvidia is a new move we have not seen before. Intel has mentioned this is the first consumer product that uses the EMIB small intelligent bridge design, which allows information to be passed quickly in “extremely close proximity.” The bridge allows chips to be both smaller and more powerful. The new chip will use HBM2, and can be used in devices including notebooks, two-in-ones, and mini desktops.
