AMD Making New GPU 7nm Architecture for Sony PlayStation 5 (PS 5 Full Specs)

These are the Rumored PlayStation 5 Specs

The Sony PlayStation 4 is one of the most successful consoles of all time thanks to its immensely popular exclusives and the lack of exclusives on the Xbox One. Even though the Xbox One X is much more powerful than the PS 4 Pro, most gamers still go with Sony as it has more exclusives such as the next Spider-Man game and God of War 2. Fans of the PlayStation consoles have been waiting to see the next-generation PlayStation console. Although Sony hasn’t officially said much about the PS 5, there are a lot of rumors floating around the internet.

Specs:

According to rumors, the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to use an AMD Zen CPU. Again according to rumors, Sony is going to use Ryzen CPUs in the PlayStation 5. Sony is likely not going to use a high-end CPU. Microsfot and Sony usually use lower end CPUs for their consoles but instead buy better GPUs. For example, the PS 4 Pro features an x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores CPU. Sony’s PS 4 Pro gets held back by its weak CPU in many games. Sony will probably use a lower-end Ryzen CPU for their PS 5 consoles. Considering that it isn’t going to come out for a while, it will likely feature an AMD Ryzen 5, so that the GPU isn’t held back a lot but the CPU isn’t very expensive.

According to rumors, the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to feature the AMD Navi graphics architectures. Right now we don’t know a lot about the AMD Navi architectures. The only thing we know is that it is going to feature the 7nm process. Apparently, Navi isn’t only going to be in the PS 5, AMD is making it for Sony. Apparently, this came at the expense of AMD RX Vega. 2/3 of Koduri’s engineering team was devoted to working for Navi, and that’s why the Vega GPUs were somewhat disappointing.
