While right now waiting for Apple’s iPhone X is what many apple fans are doing, some others are anticipating the new iMac Pro. Some Sources say that Apple suppliers are busy producing the AMD Radeon Pro Vega video cards to be used in iMac Pro computers. It is interesting to see Amd on apply again especially the RX Vega 64 Liquid cooling version if that is something that apple is considering but not sure if that is an option for apple iMac pro. According to Digitimes, company called Siliconware Precision Industries is managing the production of the iMac Pro GPUs. The Radeon RX Vega ’56’ GPU has 8 GB of dedicated video memory ’64’ has 16 GB. Rumors say iMac Pro may get ready to be out sometime before the end of the year in 2017 and Apple has already said: ‘December’ in some occasions. The same sources disclosed that Taiwan-based outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) companies are already stepping up the 2.5D packaging for the GPUs. Apple is preparing to launch a luxury workstation-class iMac Pro with 27-inch display, Radeon Pro Vega 56 GPU and 8GB HBM2 memory. There’s also a variant with the Radeon Pro Vega 64 GPU and 16GB HBM2 memory.
The GPUs will likely influence the cost of the iMac Pro in December that will start at $4,999. The price is a bit of a deal breaker for many but know that iMac Pros will have 5K display and an 8-core Intel Xeon processor, which is up-gradable to 10 or 18 cores + 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD. Apple maintained in April that newly designed Mac Pro are on sceduel, apple then unveiled the $4,999 iMac Pro two months later. Now id only 1 month to December and Apple is very busy with iPhone X.
