The Assassin’s Creed series has been going downhill until now. Instead of releasing a new Assassin’s Creed game one year after Syndicate Ubisoft took a year off and released Assassin’s Creed Origins. According to the game’s director Assassin’s Creed Origins is a huge leap forward from the other Assassin’s Creed games. In an interview with Gameindustry Jean Guesdon (Assassin’s Creed Origin’s creative director) said the team tried to create a new Assassin’s Creed experience. Guesdon said they wanted to take a leap forward and modernize the gameplay. According to him, that’s why they added rock climbing, bow, the eagle vision, and more. He says Assassin’s Creed Origins is moving the franchise forward and the Assassin’s Creed series is moving towards a role-playing game.

He says the team made all of Ancient Egypt playable because they wanted to deliver the full experience from the highest mountain to the deepest body of water. In Assassin’s Creed, Black Flag players were able to fight in naval battles and do missions on land. Even though most of the game happened on water, it sold very well, and many fans say it’s one of the best Assassin’s Creed games of all time.

He also defended the eagle view that many fans say came from Ghost Recon’s drone view. He says the team adds features that make sense. For example, they added grappling hooks to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate because some buildings were very high so they added so players can on top of the buildings very fast. He says they added the eagle eye view so players will be able to see further away. Assassin’s Creed Origins was released on October 27, 2017, for the PC, Xbox One, and PS 4.

Ghost Recon wasn’t Ubisoft’s first game that had a view from the air. Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal had that feature too. With the Owl in Primal players were able to tag enemies, drop smoke bombs, kill enemies, command the tamed beast, and more.
