Battlefield 1 has many season pass maps, and until now none have become a free map. Nivelle Nights was exclusive to  Premium Pass owners or They Shall Not Pass, now anyone that owns Battlefield 1 will be able to play it. In a blog post, Dice announced that the Nivelle Nights expansion map would become free in early November. In the Nivelle Night expansion map, players will play as the German or French army at night. Nivelle Night is a trench warfare around Soupir and Malmaison  France. In the future DICE and EA might make other Battlefield 1 expansions free. It isn’t the first time EA has made paid expansion free for everyone. Every paid DLC is free in Titanfall.

Battlefield 1’s 4th DLC is called  Turning Tides. Turning Tides is a naval warfare map players will be able to play on land, water, and air. The Turning Tides DLC will be released in 2 parts.  The 1st and main part is coming in December 2017, and the 2nd piece of the DLC is coming in January 2018. Players that own Battlefield 1 Premium pass will be able to play the DLC 2 weeks before others. The December release will include two maps, new operation, six new guns and melee weapons, new specialization, new assignments, new unlocks, new elite class, and two new vehicles. The new maps are Cape Helles and Achi Baba. The new operation is called Gallipoli. In the Gallipoli Campaign, the allies tried to capture a sea route from Europe to Russia from the Ottoman empire. The update a new class called the Infiltrator. The new vehicles are the L-class destroyer and C-class Airship. C-class Airship was a US Navy blimp, and the L-class destroyer was a Turkish Navy airship. 

Battlefield 1 received positive reviews by critics and was seen as an improvement over previous installments, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. Most of the praise was directed towards its World War I theme, single player campaign, multiplayer modes, visuals and sound design.
