Earning a rare 10/10 review score, the Garmin Forerunner 935 was an easy pick as our favourite wearable this year. It’s attractively designed, boasts impressive battery life, and is so comfortable you “barely notice it.”

Garmin call their latest triathlon/multisport and running-specific digital watch “the Forerunner 935”. This watch came almost a year after the FR735XT and only 3 months after the Fenix 5 so it should have had something really different that it was released after those two. And it does. So what’s the FR935 all about? It’s a cheaper version of the Fenix 5, with a plastic shell as opposed to metal. It’s got a barometric altimeter (and WiFi!) that the FR735XT lacks, and also adds in things like the new Training Load/Recovery features found in the Fenix 5, as well as Bluetooth Smart sensor support. Sensors: Added support for Bluetooth Smart sensors (Cycling Power/Speed/Cadence, Running Footpod, Heart Rate), Added Varia Vision Heads Up Display Support (all ANT+ remote displays technically), Added Varia Bike Lights (all ANT+ lights technically). Keeps battery for up to 24 hours in GPS at 1-second sampling. Barometric Altimeter: Added it, 735XT didn’t have it and only had GPS-based elevation. Base model ($499USD): Black watch face with silver accent and black band, charging cable, Bundled model ($649 USD): Black watch face with yellow accent and black band, additional yellow band, charging cable, HRM-TRI HR strap, HRM-SWIM HR strap, quick release kit.
