Call of Duty: WWII and PS 4 sold very well in November
The PS 4 has been doing very well
2017 was a very good year for Sony. The PS 4 became the 9th best selling console ever and PS VR sold very well too. The PS 4 sold 70.6 million units worldwide. That means the PS 4 is the 9th best selling console of all time barely above the PS 3’s 70.2 million units and under the PSP’s 73.9 million units. The PS VR sold 2 million units worldwide although we don’t have numbers on other VR headsets we do know that the PS VR is the best selling VR headset compared to the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. In 2017 12.2 million PS VR games were sold and 617.8 million copies of PS 4 games. The PS VR sold very well considering that it has less than 200 games on it. The Call of Duty series is very popular so it makes a lot of sense that Call of Duty WW2 dominated the November NDP sales charts.
The NPD Group’s report shows that November was a really good month for Sledgehammer, Sony, and the gaming industry. November 2017 sales are up 30% from November 2016 sells. In total $2.68 billion gaming hardware, games, etc were sold in November 2017 and in November 2016 in total $2.072 billion were sold. In November 2017 $1.147 billion worth of gaming hardware was sold, $1.164 billion console games, $33 million PC games, and $344 million worth of Accessories. Call of Duty WW2 was the best selling game of November. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 came in second, Assassin’s Creed Origins came in third place, NBA 2K18 came in fourth place, and Madden NFL 18 came in fifth place. In November the PS 4 was the best selling console and it sold more in November than it has in any other month.
