DICE’s Creative Director: Talks are Happening About a Battle Royal Mode for Battlefield V

Battlefield 1 was a massive success thanks to its unique world war one setting and all the hate that Call of Duty infinite Warfare received. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you definitely know about a new gaming genre called Battle Royal and the most popular battle royal game Fortnite. Activision has replaced Call of Duty Black Ops IIII’s campaign with a battle royal mode and other first-person shooter developers are trying to take a piece of that sweet sweet pie. Many gamers expected to hear about a battle royal mode when EA announced Battlefield V but they didn’t talk about it. In an interview with Eurogamer DICE’s Creative Director Lars Gustavsson said that they talk about how battle royal is a good fit for Battlefield.

Gustavsson said, “I’m getting this question a lot! For us, I play it a lot with the kids at home and we really enjoy it. It’s an amazing journey for us, we often come together and talk about how it’s a good fit for Battlefield, all of our vehicles and the sandbox and everything. So there’s definitely talks happening and lots of excitement at where the market is heading, but there’s nothing we can talk about.” 

A lot of rumors have been saying that Battlefield V’s battle royal mode is going to come out a bit after launch and that is expected as right now battle royal is the biggest and most popular genre on the gaming market. A battle royal mode set in World War II with loads of items and Battlefield’s game-play will get very popular.

Battlefield V is going to be released on October 19, 2018, for the PC, Xbox One, and PS 4.
