Although the existing video games and video game concepts and sketches of Trump in games are not in high-end gaming market and not made with the game developing giants. It is interesting to see and analyze the movement to put and fit Donald trump in the video games. He is a very “controversial figure” with all aspects of him being “Donald trump”. He has lovers and haters. To put such a character from real life to video games could be perceived as a political act. Games are simulations of real world’s conflicts. Games simulates the fight and satisfies the urge to win. So what side are you going to put Trump on? The Hero or the Antagonist. Both are extremely political. Lets say you are playing a game that Trump is the Hero or against the hero. Your political believes makes you love or hate, not only the heroes of the game but also the whole game and even the game creators and game company. No you can not make a video game from Donald tromp without any controversy! You can see even the concept posters and images are so extreme.

Donald Trump has been loved and has been hated. He has been called from “A Moron” to “A Hero”. He has been compared with Hitler and Jesus. He is what you can actually define the phrase “controversial figure” with. Many loyal fans that stayed with him through everything and many who hate him in every aspect. Maybe the first step to start understanding Real characters in our world like Trump, is to start understanding the roots of Hero and The Antagonists in our culture and minds.

What makes people to tend to follow and cherish a leader or oppose and fight a leader?

Humans love and hate. Maybe these are the most basic two sides of human being. Nobody really knows what Love or hate are. Aside from all the cultural and religious backgrounds we all have from the history and our childhoods, that motivate us to love or hate things in our individual or national or global ways, We do not really know what the bases of those very basic feelings are!

We just know they are feelings that we have and we follow. After all we do not really need a reason. Basically based on what side you are you will act accordingly. We can not even call anything good or bad. The good and bad judgment comes directly from how we humans “FEEL” about something. If you dive deep into the philosophy of language or culture you will absolutely find no rational root to any human feeling. There is no answer to “WHY WE FEEL ?”. And still our “good vs bad” judgments are based on our “FEELINGS’. If you are in Germany 40’s standing in line of soldiers to fight for Hitler and attack another country, You are not at fault other than being the person that you are.

So stories have HEROES and the fight is two sided. So basically there are two heroes fighting against each other. You never see a 3 or 4 sided fight, do you? Even if there are disagreements, they come to agree to unite and fight the bigger enemy and postpone their in-fights for later. And on whatever side you are ,you will fight for it. It is very rare to see a third position. Fortunately there is one; Watching! Like movies!

But in Video games you do not get to be the watcher, you should play. There are some games that let you play both sides, you can play as the good or the bad guy specially the online multi-player platform. But most of the video games are made to be played by one main character. Of course you can change the looks and such but not the path and the intentions.

We call the antagonist “Antagonist” which basically means the anti-hero (not a hero for the other side that happened to be this hero’s enemy) because we assume that the audience or the gamer is already associating him/ her self with the Hero we designed. So we do not really give the gamer the chance to choose which side to play. The whole story is based on the main character being the hero and the anti-hero being the enemy. Based on this theme, bad and good will be applied. The hero is good and the Anti-hero is obviously the bad one.
