Even more Leaks & rumors on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180/2080, 11xx/20xx GPUs
We are closer to the launch of NVIDIA’s next generation GPUs, fresh rumors are out, new info points to a possibility of a dual-fan Founders Edition and ray tracing capabilities in the top-tier SKIs. The company has also registered the Turing, Quadro RTX, and GeForce RTX trademark and more.
NVIDIA is doing their own event for the GeForce gaming graphics card lineup which will take place during Gamescom 2018. NVIDIA is set to show new and exclusive game demos, on-stage presentations and also, some spectacular surprises during the event. 20th August in Cologne, Germany, at Gamescom 2018.
The details of some of the recent leaks of information about the actual release dates of 11 GPU family comes from the YouTuber, Gamer Meld, who allegedly received an email from an NVIDIA board partner and then leaked it. The email does mention at least four of the GeForce 11 family graphics cards and their release dates in 2018. The GeForce 11 series graphics cards mentioned in the email are:
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 (30th August Release Date)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180+ (30th September Release Date)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1170 (30th September Release Date)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1160 (30th October Release Date)
Expected Specs
According to new rumors, the Nvidia GTX 1180 is going to feature 3584 Cuda Cores, 11GB of VRAM, 1600MHz core clock, 1800MHz boost clock, 13 TFLOPS, 16 Gbps Memory Speed, and a TDP of 180W. That’s not all lower end models are going to be released as well one a 120W GPU and the other a 150W GPU. The GTX 1170 is going to perform really well even trumping the GTX 1080Ti so with this we could assume that the GTX 1180 is going to be able to play all games at 4k 60+ FPS ultra settings. The 120W model or the GTX 1160 is probably going to allow gamers to play their games at 1440p ultra 60+ FPS. Both the GTX 1170 and GTX 1160 are going to feature 8GB of vRAM.
NVIDIA SIGGRAPH 2018 Set To Introduce 1180 or Maybe Quadro GPU| A Special Event With CEO, Jensen Huang 13th August
Almost the same day we are expecting AMD for some new announcements, as wccftech has Reported and in new Nvidia Pr, NVIDIA has just announced that they will have a special event at SIGGRAPH 2018 which is live-streamed across the world. The event takes place on 13th August in Vancouver and will have a primary focus towards computer graphics. NVIDIA has previously announced Titan and Quadro graphics cards at previous SIGGRAPH events so we will most likely see a new one at this year’s event too. And the next gamescome also to focus on gaming platforms.
Support for ray tracing
GALAX rep claims ‘breakthrough’ performance and support for ray tracing
At GDC 2018, NVIDIA first showed off its RTX ray tracing tech that works with its Volta architecture. Thus, it was expected that consumer Volta offerings such as Turing would feature some sort of ray tracing support. The release time of the next-generation NVIDIA graphics card will not be far away. Players will be able to see the information about the new graphics card in September. The performance will certainly have a breakthrough growth, and will support the most advanced NVIDIA ray tracing technology. Game player is a good news!Of course, GALAXY’s non-public version of the design is also in the process of planning, the next generation of new graphics will still follow the Hall of Fame, GAMER, the many advantages of the series, and innovate in the shape and heat, giving players a better game Experience and visual enjoyment, in order to enrich the needs of players, we plan to create a new series in the graphics card, specifically what shape and positioning, first give everyone a suspense, but I can guarantee that will not disappoint everyone!” Of note here is the phrase, “innovate in the shape and heat” implying new designs in coolers and possibly a liquid AIO cooler in the top-tier cards.
GTX 2080 Founders Edition could sport a dual-fan setup
This one comes from Benchlife, which should lend some credence. According to the source, the design of the Founders Edition cooling has been changed to a dual-fan setup. It is not known to what model exactly this refers to but given that NVIDIA would be competing with their AIBs who design custom cooling solutions, this information is better taken with a pinch of salt. That said, it is possible that the higher end Founders Edition variants that support ray tracing might actually benefit from a dual-fan open-air cooling design. More on that below.
Colorful reveals next-gen cooling solution
This somehow skipped under the radar but NVIDIA AIB Colorful showed off a next generation cooling solution while showcasing its ‘iGame NEXT GENERATION’ cards at Computex 2018.
NVIDIA registers Turing, Quadro RTX and GeForce RTX trademarks
In a new development, NVIDIA has registered three new trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office. This is probably the first official indication that we might see ‘Turing’, ‘Quadro RTX’, and ‘GeForce RTX’ names very soon. The official RTX trademark lends further credence to the speculation about possible ray tracing capabilities in the top-tier RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 models.
