Just Cause 4 is the fourth game in the infamous Just Cause series. It is the sequel to 2015’s Just Cause 3 although we don’t have a lot of info, we have an idea of what the game will be like.

Everything We Know About the Story

As of now, we don’t know a lot about the story, but we did get some info thanks to Just Cause 4’s story and narrative trailer. According to the developers, Just Cause 4 isn’t going to “bind you into narrative components that you’re not interested in,” giving the player more freedom. The story has been placed throughout the world, and you are always experiencing a part of the story while exploring the vast world of the game. You get to experience the story in your own order which is good news as this means Just Cause 4 wouldn’t feature the traditional linear story give gamers more freedom.

Unlike previous games in the series, the player doesn’t know who the bad guy is from the start of the game. It’s not as obvious who the enemy is, so you are forced to “expose the layers of corruption and mal-intent underneath that.” One of the developers of the game describes the story as “the perfect blend of non-linear massive storytelling in a massive open-world.” 

Who are the Characters involved in the story?

Thanks to the story trailer, we do know that Sheldon is back from Just Cause 3, and we do know that he will work with Rico sometime during the story. One of the most important characters in the story is Mira. She was born in the slums of Solis and loves her country and is willing to do anything to save it from destruction, “she is a rebel for all the reasons that Rico’s never been a rebel for in the past.” Next up is an archaeologist called Javi who will give Rico missions and in rewards, giving players upgrades for their grappling hook. We also have the “Frontline”, an army that will help you capture extra territory and get upgrades throughout the story. 

When is Just Cause 4 Coming Out?

Just Cause 4 is going to be released on December 4, 2018, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can pre-order the game right now for $59.99.
