Is Google Stadia a Viable Option Over PC Gaming for Casual Gamers?

Google Stadia to Have Less Input-Lag Then PC Gaming in a Year or Two

Google Stadia

Let’s be honest here a PC gaming set up will run you a lot of money. A gaming PC that can run games at acceptable settings will cost you at least $500 and the whole set up will at least cost $700. Even the cheapest console from this generation will run you at least $225. The thing is that right now, you can pick up Chromecast Ultra for only $70 which means that it’ll let you stream the latest games thanks to Google Stadia as long as you have a controller or a keyboard and mouse.

Google Stadia to Outperform Gaming PCs and Consoles Soon

Talking to Edge magazine, the VP of engineering for Google Stadia Madj Bakar said, “Ultimately, we think in a year or two we’ll have games that are running faster and feel more responsive in the cloud than they do locally, regardless of how powerful the local machine is.” This is definitely a bold claim as Google will need to do a lot of work if they want streaming to be as responsive as playing on a local machine. Apparently Stadia will use “negative latency” to decrease input lag. Google wants to minimize input lag by using AI that predicts what a user will click next which will supposedly allow gamers to play the latest games at 4k and even 8k without a lot of lag.

Is Google Stadia a Viable Option?

PC gaming is very expensive and a full set up will run you at least $700 so, this raises the question, is Stadia a viable option over PC gaming for casual gamers? The answer is yes. If you are a casual gamer Stadia may be better for you then a gaming PC as it will save you a good ammount of money. Also, the latest games are coming out for Stadia which means that you will be able to play the latest triple-A games without any issues.
