leaked Geekbench Benchmarks | AMD’s Ryzen 7 3800X ~5% faster than Intel’s i9-9900K

AMD chip proves ~5% faster in multi-core tests compared to the Intel i9-9900K coupled with the same DDR4. The AMD chip is also expected to cost almost US$100 less.

Trusted leaker Tum Apisak recently stumbled upon some Geekbench tests that compare AMD’s Ryzen 7 3800X CPU with Intel’s i9-9900K model, and it looks like the Zen 2 chip has what it takes to beat the competition. Compared to an Intel i9-9900K running on DDR4-2133 RAM, the R7 3800K is ~1% slower in single-core tests, but emerges ~5% faster in multi-core workloads. We would imagine that, with the faster DDR4-3200 RAM, the difference would be even greater.

The i9-9900K running on DDR4-2666 RAM (maximum supported clocks) is ~14.5% faster in single-core tests and only 0.56% faster in multi-core workloads compared to the DDR4-2133 RAM results achieved by the Ryzen 7 3800X CPU.

Ryzen 9 3950X ES incredible results on Geekbench lately that had been amassed by a system known only as “AMD Myrtle” on the benchmark database. The single-core result was a huge 5,868 points, but that soon paled into comparison against the massive multi-core test score of 61,072 points. Geekbench entries can be tampered with, but thanks to an HWBOT submission, this particular record appears to be genuine.

The single-core score puts the processor into the realm of chips like the Intel Core i5-9600K and the i7-8700K. But the multi-core score places the Matisse CPU way beyond anything listed on Geekbench’s latest charts. Notbookcheck reports
