Moto Gamepad Won The CES Awards 2018 Innovation Awards
The Moto Gamepad Mod got the honored in ces 2018. CES 2018 Innovation Awards is annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products. The Moto Gamepad from Motorola is a magnetic controller that attaches to any Moto Z device and adds an impressive array of buttons and joysticks for use in just about any game in your mobile. The Gamepad Mod doesn’t use Bluetooth for communication and acts as a hub for supported games. Its designed very smart and unique. The list of games in the Explorer app is pretty expansive; after all, Android has long supported controllers for gaming. You can play anything from side scrollers like Sonic and Rayman, to full-blown RPGs like Final Fantasy. The Gamepad Mod has all a controller needs to have; there are two clickable joysticks, four shoulder buttons, a D-pad, A, B, X, and Y buttons, Start and Select, and a Home button. It has a modifier buttons that feels tacky against the Gamepad’s plastic construction. Most games offer the same functionality between the D-pad and left joystick, so you should be able to use it in most games. The Moto Gamepad looks and feels really good for $80 price tag. The ergonomic right and left shoulders are easy to wrap your palms around, and the crosshatch texture lends grip to the otherwise smooth plastic. Despite a few shortcomings and the complains about the moto gamepad, the Gamepad Mod is still one of the best controllers for a phone that is out there.
Its ease of connectivity and built-in battery are huge selling points for motorola, and at $80 it’s a much easier purchase than some of the other Moto Mods (looking at you, $200 360 Camera Mod). What phones work? Motorola’s Moto Z phones support connecting to Moto Mods. These Moto Mods easily snap onto the back of the phones via pogo pins and magnets. There have been some Moto Mods so far, some of them battery mods that add more juice to your phone and some are like a JBL speaker attachment that cranks up the noise when you need it. The Moto Mods work with the Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z Force, Moto Z2 Play, and Moto Z Play.
