Epic Games successful battle royal game Fortnite has gotten a new patch (revealed via Forrtnite’s Tweeter.). The new update is all about team balancing, and it has added a new weapon, changed balance issues on some other weapons, and tightened the grip on team killers. Balancing and team killers are one of the biggest issues that developers have to work on. Some guns are overpowered, and gamers dislike team killing. Most games that allow friendly fire can’t do much about team killers. The new update doesn’t fix the team killing issue the team is working towards a solution for team killing. Right now gamers can report team killers, but the Fortnite team will probably make a system that will fix team killing.
The new weapon is a new version of the SMG. This version of the SMG is a lot more quiet and stealthy it’s called the silenced SMG. The silenced SMG can be found as a common, rare, and uncommon weapon. In games such as Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite silenced weapon are extremely useful and effective. The silenced SMG is the quietest gun in Fortnite. Assault Rifle’s accuracy will be increased with the new update. Assault Rifle’s accuracy has been increased 33%, penalty per shot went down 20%, reset speed went up 20%, and Recoil went down 30%. SMG damage went up from 12/12/13 to 14/15/16 (all rare levels.) SMG magazine size has gone up to 35 from 25. Tactical SMG damage has gone up to 16/17/18 from 14/15/16 (all rare levels.) Rocket launcher reloads time has been increased by 10%. The Fortnite team wants to make the rocket and grenade riding an actual feature unless it causes an issue.
Fortnite has been very successful not as successful as PUBG, but it has been doing very well. The fact that it’s free and available on PC, Xbox One, and PS 4 helps it a lot. In October 30th Fortnite announced that they had reached 811K concurrent players. Right now Player Unknown’s Battleground’s peak players online at the same time is 2,866,566. That’s a lot more then Fortnite’s 811K concurrent players, but Fortnite has reached a record that many developers dream to get. Dota 2 (2nd in Steam) had 807,834 concurrent players (according to Steam charts), so if Fortnite were on Steam, it would’ve has the 2nd highest concurrent players.
