IO Interactive confirms a new Hitman game is under development

After IO Interactive left Square Enix, many fans were worried about the future of the game. If you were worried about Hitman’s future, you don’t need to worry anymore. IO Interactive has confirmed that they are making a new Hitman game.

In a blog post, IO Interactive thanked gamers for purchasing the game of the year edition, and they said this would support them in making their first Hitman game without Square Enix in a long time. They said some things about the next Hitman game too. IO Interactive said they’re making huge progress with the next Hitman game and the next Hitman game will have many new and exciting features it’s going to the first time that we have seen these features in a Hitman game. IO Interactive will release more details and start talking about the game at some time in 2018. Hitman fans are very happy because we haven’t heard anything about a new Hitman game in a very long time.

Earlier 2017 Square Enix announced that IO Interactive is going to be sold, but a buyer wasn’t found, so IO Interactive became an independent developer. After that news, they didn’t say anything, so Hitman fans were worried Agent 47 would be retired from games forever. Today IO Interactive launched Hitman game of the year edition. The GOTY edition will include the first season of the 2016 game with four new missions and more. The GOTY edition is available for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 for $59.99. Players that already own the full Hitman (2016) season will be able to upgrade to the game of the year edition for $19.99.
