Nintendo Switch 2.0 (Nintendo Switch XL) Might go With AMD Next-Gen, Will it Use AMD Navi (7nm GPU) or Vega IGPU?
The Nintendo Switch 2.0 Might go with AMD
The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular consoles of all time. The Nintendo Switch sold millions of units in its first months causing a big shortage of the console as it has surpassed Nintendo’s expectations. The Nintendo Switch can be described as the ultimate Nintendo console, its portable and it features some of the best games that Nintendo has ever released. If you want power, the Nintendo Switch is likely not the console for you, but things might change by Nintendo Switch 2.0. It still wouldn’t be as powerful as something like the Xbox One X, but it might be able to run some triple-A games.
Right now, AMD has the most powerful IGPUs and in the future, it will have the smallest GPUs thanks to the 7nm AMD Navi. AMD Ryzen G CPU series feature Vega graphics. Although it is an IGPU, it performs almost like an real GPU, enabling some light gaming. With the Ryzen 5 2400g, gamers are able to do a bit of gaming. Although ultra settings, 1080p, 60 FPS wouldn’t be possible, you will be able to play triple-A games at 1080p medium to low around 45 FPS. This is far better than current IGPUs such as the Intel HD 630 graphics. Vega IGPU will be a good and affordable option for the Nintendo Switch 2.0.
Another option for Nintendo is AMD Navi. AMD Navi is going to be the first ever 7nm GPU. This means it will be more power efficient than GPUs available in the market right now, giving it a lead in the portable gaming market over Nvidia. This means Nintendo can give it less power and get more performance in return over current GPUs available in the market. AMD Navi will likely be too expensive for Nintendo as Nintendo Switch 2.0 probably wouldn’t cost more than $400.
