Nintendo Switch 2.0 (Nintendo Switch XL) Rumored Specs, is it Even Happening? Will it Feature VR? Might Go With AMD Instead of Nvidia
These are the Latest Rumors About Nintendo Switch 2.0

The Nintendo Switch was one of the most popular consoles of this generation. At first, critics thought that the Nintendo Switch would be the next Wii U, but fortunately for Nintendo that never happened. When the Nintendo Switch came out, it instantly became a fan favorite and outsold Nintendo’s expectations. The Nintendo Switch has been described as the ultimate Nintendo console, as it featured some of the best first-party Nintendo games of all time, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey.
Is the Nintendo Switch 2.0 Even Happening?
Nintendo has already said that they want to increase the Switch’s lifespan by at least one year. If they want to do it, they will have to release new iterations of the console. According to reports, Nintendo is going to focus on manufacturing issues in 2018, and then they might start working on new hardware irritations of the Switch in 2019. So yes, it is most likely happening, but it’s not clear if it will feature better specs or just change the dimensions of the console.
The Nintendo Switch 2.0 Might Go With AMD Instead of Nvidia
Right now, AMD has some of the best hardware for portable gaming. In the coming months, with AMD Navi, AMD can capture a lot of the portable gaming market from Nvidia. AMD Navi is going to be a 7nm GPU. That means manufacturers can give the GPU less power, but get more performance in return. Nintendo Switch 2.0 is probably not going to feature AMD Navi as it will likely be too expensive but, AMD’s Vega IGPUs are going to be a good option. AMD’s VEGA IGPUs enable some light gaming, and they are relatively cheap. If Nintendo works with AMD, they might be able to implement some form of AMD Vega or Navi into the Nintendo Switch 2.0 for a low price.
Will the Nintendo Switch 2.0 Feature VR Gaming?
A while back, a programmer that likes to mess with Nintendo consoles, discovered a secret VR app on the Nintendo Switch. When the VR app was launched, it read, “Please move the console away from your face and click the close button.” It seems like Nintendo has already been experimenting with VR on the Switch, but they didn’t enable it on the Switch. With the Switch 2.0, Nintendo might be able to deliver a cheap solution for VR gaming. If they release something like the Google Cardboard for the Switch, gamers might be able to experience VR on the Nintendo Switch for a relatively low price.
