Nintendo Switch is the fastest selling console in the USA

After the Wii U’s huge failure Nintendo needed to get back to the glory days. When Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch many gamers and analysts thought that it will fail and it will become another Wii U. No third party support and poor design. Fortunately for Nintendo, those people were completely wrong and the Nintendo Switch did very well. Recently we heard that the Nintendo Switch has been selling faster than Sony’s PS 2 in Japan. The Switch sold 10 million units in only 9 months and it exceeded Nintendo’s expectations by a lot. Nintendo expected the Switch to sell only 8 million Switch units in Nintendo Switch’s first facial year April 2017 through March 2018. Well, we just heard that Japan isn’t the only country that Nintendo Switch has been doing very well in. In the United States of America, the Nintendo Switch became the fasted selling console ever. 

On 1/4/18 Nintendo said in a blog post, “Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling home video game system in U.S. history. The home console that players can take wherever they go launched March 3, 2017, and in 10 months has sold more than 4.8 million units in the United States” According to Nintendo that makes it the fastest selling console in the USA ever. Apparently, more than 60% of gamers in the USA own Super Mario Odyssey and more than 55% own Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. 50% of Nintendo Switch gamers in the United States own Mario Kart 8 and 20% own Splatoon 2. These sale numbers aren’t surprising at all considering that Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey got a near perfect score from every reviewer some even gave them a 10/10. Super Mari Odyssey got a 10/10 on IGN and GameSpot and a 9.5/10 from Polygon. Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild got an 8.5/10 on GameSpot, 5/5 on GamesRadar, and a 10/10 on TrustedReviews.
