Nvidia May Have Shown Off RTX Refreshes | To Compete With 7nm AMD Navi (Rumors)

Nvidia Rumored to Reveal RTX Refreshes at Computex 2019

If you follow the news, you probably heard about AMD’s next-gen 7nm Navi GPUs which were rumored to blow away the competing Nvidia RTX GPUs thanks to that 7nm architecture. Recently rumors been going around claiming that Nvidia is going to release new RTX GPUs to compete with AMD Navi.

Nvidia RTX Refreshes Happening

According to a new rumor from YouTube channel RedGamingTech, Nvidia is going to announce new RTX refreshes at Computex 2019. The RTX refreshes are supposedly going to feature GDDR6 Memory and Higher Clocks. The RTX refreshes are going to be announced with AMD Navi at Computex 2019 so that Nvidia can compete with 7nm Navi. The RTX refreshes are also expected to lower current RTX prices which may make it hard for AMD to compete with RTX.

Nvidia Showed Off RTX Refresh GPUs?

Nvidia recently revealed a short video named “Something super is coming…” which seems to be teasing new Nvidia hardware. Some claim that the short video is showing off a new Nvidia Shield but, it is very likely that the video is showing off the next-gen Nvidia RTX refreshes. With Computex right around the corner, it makes a lot of sense for Nvidia to tease the RTX refreshes a few days before.

AMD Navi Leaked Specs and Performance

According to a recent rumor from a Chinese tech site, Navi isn’t going to be as powerful as we thought. It is said that AMD will release the RX 3080 and RX 3070 first with the lower-end Navi cards coming later. The RX 3080 is supposedly going to cost you $499 while the RX 3070 is going to have an MSRP of $400. The RX 3080 is said to be able to outperform the RTX 2070 while the RX 3070 is said to perform between the RTX 2070 and RTX 2060.

An older rumor claimed that the RX 3070 and RX 3080 are going to be able to deliver the same performance but, it was said that the RX 3080 is going to have an MSRP of $250 while the RX 3070 was rumored to cost you about $200. The new rumor makes more sense as this kind of performance for such low prices is simply unthinkable.

If the latest AMD Navi rumor is true, Nvidia will most likely continue to control most of the GPU market. The RTX refreshes will cause a price decrease in current RTX GPUs which means that AMD Navi will most likely perform very similarly to RTX or maybe even a little worse.
