Nvidia RTX 2070 complete review leaks out early

HardOCP released the RTX 2070 review 2 full days before the NDA lift and it looks like last week’s leaks are now confirmed.

The review embargo for Nvidia’s RTX 2070 cards will be lifted tomorrow, October 17, but the HardOCP staff decided to ignore the NDA and published their MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z comprehensive test a few days in advance. The HardOCP review provides only 1440p and 4K results. It seems like the 1080p resolution is not that popular anymore.

HardOCP released the RTX 2070 review 2 full days before the NDA lift and it looks like last week’s leaks are now confirmed. The factory overclocked RTX 2070 models are slightly faster than the GTX 1080, with the stock RTX 2070 most likely on par with the previous gen Pascal GPUs. Considering that the GTX 1080 prices are falling more and more by the month, while the RTX 2070 prices are expected to be slightly above MSRP for the next few months due to the Chinese trade wars

Last week’s leak tweeted by Tum Apisak suggested that the RTX 2070 would be just a smidge faster than the GTX 1080, and the HardOCP review clearly confirms this. The MSI model featured in the test is the company’s highest overclocked variant that will be available by launch, with boost core clocks going as high as 1.83 GHz (stable even at 1.92 GHz). Since it is already overclocked, this model will most likely end up costing as much as the US$599 Founders’ Edition from Nvidia. By the looks of it, the stock RTX 2070 variants should be on par with the GTX 1080 cards.
