About Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ being released, you have probably heard a lot of rumors and leaks. If all those new have been just rumors the new Samsung announcement for the chip that is probably going inside these flagships smartphones will be revealed next week, so we might see something after all in January. The January 4 launch date is as official as it gets. The date has been announced on Twitter by a new post that was published by the Samsung Exynos official account.
“Discover #TheNextExynos that goes beyond a component. Stay tuned.”
Samsung revealed some early details of the upcoming Exynos 9810 chip last month. Things we know about the specs and features of this processor include a third-gen custom processing core, an upgraded GPU, and a maximum bandwidth of 1.2 Gbps that can be accomplished through 6x carrier aggregation, thanks to a Category 18 LTE modem. Like most Galaxy flagships the global versions of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be the ones to use the new Exynos 9810. The units aimed at the US market will probably use the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor available in large quantities (most likely the Snapdragon 945).
