New Nintendo Switch Console versions Fix the Biggest Vulnerability issue in the Switch The "Fusée Gelée" Hack Doesn't Work on New Nintendo Switch Versions When a new game console comes out hackers start working very hard to find an exploit and get a homebrew running on it. Most consoles have hardware that is different from PC hardware, they have a different architecture. Even after hackers are able to find exploit they will have to work a lot to be able to run something like Homebrew on it but it's not the same with the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch uses the NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor so it's very easy for hackers to run a whole other OS on the Nintendo Switch. After a few months, hackers were able to run Linux on the Nintendo Switch which is a big accomplishment considering that they did this in a few short months. A few months ago hackers were able to find a very big vulnerability in the Switch's hardware. The difference with this vulnerability and other vulnerabilities on other consoles is that this is a hardware issue so Nintendo is not able to release a patch to fix this issue. The Tegra X1 has a bug in the Boot Rom. This feature was placed in the X1 chip to recover bricked devices. With this bug, gamers are able to run pirated games on the Switch which is a big issue for Nintendo. The worst part is that Nintendo can't do anything about it. The hacker who found the exploit in the Tegra X1 chip Tweeted, "Bad News: Reports of new Switches in the wild not being vuln to f-g... probably updated ipatches. Good news: they're coming with 4.1.0 for now, which is vuln to deja vu. Friendly reminder: if you want a hacked switch, don't update. The lower the better. This is still very true." If you want to run homebrew on the Nintendo Switch you will need to either buy an older version fo the Nintendo Switch or not update your Nintendo Switch to newer versions.
