Todd Howard Says Fallout 4 Not Going to Get Ported to the Nintendo Switch But it Might Happen

There is a Slight Chance for Fallout 4 to Come to the Nintendo Switch

Bethesda has been one of the biggest third-party companies supporting the Nintendo Switch. Bethesda was the first third-party, triple-A company that announced a game for the Nintendo Switch. Bethesda showed Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch in it’s reveal trailer, which was a big shock to fans of Nintendo and Bethesda. Nintendo consoles are usually associated with games for children, not an M rated game like Skyrim. Bethesda’s director and executive producer Todd Howard has revealed that he is a very big fan of the Nintendo Switch and the Legend of Zelda series so interviewers asked him if Fallout 4 is going to be ported to the Nintendo Switch.

Bethesda recently released Fallout Shelter for the Nintendo Switch and that got Fallout fans very excited about Fallout 4 for the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, in a recent interview with GameReactor Howard has said that Fallout 4 Nintendo Switch is likely not happening. The interviewer asked Howard if Fallout 4 is ever going to be ported to the Nintendo Switch but his response wasn’t good news for fans. Todd Howard said, “There’s definitely interest, but it’s not something we are exploring right now. We think it’s a great platform, it was the first time we really worked closely with Nintendo on the Skyrim port and it was a really great experience. We’ll certainly be doing more things there in the future. But right now that’s not the mainline Fallout 4 game.” 

Normally when developers say that they aren’t going to release the game on the Nintendo Switch. Fallout 4 would be a good fit for the Nintendo Switch but the Nintendo Switch probably will not be able to handle it. Skyrim is a very old game so it’s easily able to play on the Nintendo Switch but Fallout 4 is a game that takes a good amount of power to run and the Nintendo Switch will likely not have the hardware power to run it. It’s barely able to run DOOM so Fallout 4 will be a challenge t0 run on the Nintendo Switch smoothly.
