Xbox One games with keyboard and mouse support are coming soon

Besides the fact that the Xbox one hardware is going to support the old mouse+keyboard interaction, the games are already getting ready to support it. and they are comming soon. On bringing full ready to use mouse and keyboard support to the console “soon.” Xbox CVP Mike Ybarra said as much during a Q&A session following a panel at PAX West this weekend when asked about the feature by a member of a crowd. He didn’t get much into specifics and did stress that developers would decide how to implement it.

This is the full quote about keyboard and mouse support:

Keyboard and mouse support is definitely coming. We have to be very smart in how we do that. We’ll leave it a lot to the developer choice. So a lot of people, they tweet me and say “you can’t do this because of fairness,” and we understand that. We run two platforms: the Windows platform and the Xbox platform. And so, when we bring keyboard and mouse, we’ll coach developers to say: “Look, you’ve got to think about your multiplayer pools.” If you have a competitive game, people probably are going to want the choice to say “I’ll play with other keyboard and mouse people,” “I’ll play with only controller people,” or “you know what, I’ll play with any of those.” So you’ll see our first games supporting keyboard and mouse soon. I can’t announce what that is, but soon. And then, based on developer interest, they’ll choose to do keyboard and mouse going forward. Or not.

Mouse-Keyboard interaction VS Gamepads

Many PC gamers don’t like consoles and transferring to xbox or playstation because of the controllers. That will change because of Microsoft. Microsoft is definitely going to add Mouse and Keyboard support to the Xbox One. So Is the future xbox going to be like An All-in-one PC?

Microsoft announced Xbox One Mouse and Keyboard support at PAX. Xbox will allow devs to pick if they want Xbox One players using Mouse and Keyboard. A lot of people don’t like that because players that use Mouse and Keyboard will have a significant advantage over people that use controllers. The Mouse and Keyboard support is good news for people that like games such as Halo Wars. Halow Wars will be a lot more enjoyable with Keyboard and Mouse. The feature will probably be in the Xbox One X update.

Mouse + keyboard interaction is far different from game pad experience and that is why many old pc users can not really give up on their PCs and play their games in Xbox or playstation. If Xbox is to support mouse and keyboard it may mean that it could actually replace many home PCs as well and work like a Small gaming/media hub. Microsoft has mentioned in the past that they are going to somehow integrate all of their devices by one OS but now that windows phone is being discontinued its hard to make that assumption.
