2018 Gaming Graphic Cards | New AMD RX VEGA VS NVIDIA AMPERE Geforce, 12nm & 7 nm

Releasing new gaming graphics for gamers with such a high competition level ever seen between AMD and NVIDA is a tough decision for both AMD and NVIDIA. Both of the companies next moves depends on how the other one acts. AMD is rumored and expected to be expediting the 12nm and also 7nm AMD Radeon RX VEGA graphics and also Ryzen CPUs next generation from 2019 to 2018, about one year sooner than what was released in the 2020 road maps of AMD. And Just recently we heard that Nvidia’s new Geforce gaming graphics is called Ampere. We do not know if it is going to be Geforce 11 or Geforce 20 but it is to replace Pascal in gaming instead of Volta that was the main architecture thought to be replacing Pascal. The old plan was going to put the Volta on gaming graphics carsd market after Pascal is finished in 2017, Pascal is finished now with no more new graphics. Before all the new rumors about Ampere, Volta gaming platform was thought to be the next gaming graphics of NVIDIA. Volta was on the way actually, in-fact, the V100 chip has already been used in Tesla card, but what’s next on Nvidia’s roadmap is empty. According to recent reports, Nvidia’s next architecture is set to be called “Ampere” and may be revealed officially in CES 2018.  Heise.de reports, information on Nvidia’s next-generation architecture should be at the GPU Technology Conference next year, under the name ‘Ampere’.

If Nvidia is going to Ampere geforce series for 2018 gaming graphics they may shift from the 12nm Volta platform to 10 or 7nm technologies. That is maybe caused by the fact that AMD is doing the same thing. If the leakes and rumors about AMD are true, they are planing to end the 14nm soon and go for next generation of 12nm much sooner than expected in CES 2018. It was set for late 2018 but it may have moved to early 2018 and even go faster with 7nm chips and release them around Sep-Nov 2018 instead of 2019. AMD could not dominate the market by the VEGA and many believe that Nvidia with many high-end options is still at the top of the chart of high-en graphic cards, graphics like 1080ti, 1070ti and titan X. Maybe the motive for NVIDIA to release ampere and probably jumping to better chips that 12nm volta is AMD’s sudden move to expedite 12nm and 7nm in 2018. Aside from all the recent rumors the Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently mentioned that they have no plan for Volta gaming right now and pascal is doing very well but not mentioned anything about Ampere. Here is what Jensen Huang said earlier:

“Volta for gaming, we haven’t announced anything. And all I can say is that our pipeline is filled with some exciting new toys for the gamers, and we have some really exciting new technology to offer them in the pipeline. But for the holiday season for the foreseeable future, I think Pascal is just unbeatable. It’s just the best thing out there. And everybody who’s looking forward to playing Call of Duty or Destiny 2, if they don’t already have one, should run out and get themselves a Pascal.” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Volta generation of graphics.
