The Xbox One X is good news for PC gamers 

Future games could have better graphics because of the new consoles 

Gaming consoles have been around for a very long time. In recent years console have been much weaker than a gaming PC at the same time. There are hundreds of videos on YouTube that show someone building a PC that costs as much as an Xbox One S or PS 4 but performs but better than those consoles. As of writing this article, it’s impossible to build a $500 gaming PC that performs better than the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X is the first console in a long time that has decent hardware inside it. To some PC gamers that might seem like bad news but the Xbox One X is good news for PC gaming.

There have been many cases were developers have said that consoles are holding back games. The developers of “A Way Out” said, “Do you want the honest truth? This machine, [the PS4], is not so strong as you think, This is like a five-year-old PC. If consoles were as powerful as PCs are today, you would see all different games. Most of the work developers put out there is to make them work on consoles.” Many other devs have spoken out about this issue. Some even said that they have to downgrade their map size and visuals to make it run on consoles. Before the Xbox One X and PS 4 Pro consoles had very weak GPUs and CPUs. The PS 4’s GPU is equivalent to an R7 360 and if you know anything about PC gaming you know that an R7 360 isn’t enough.

The Xbox One X might not have top-tier specs but compared to the PS 4 and Xbox One it is very good news for PC gamers. The Xbox One X’s GPU is equivalent to AMD’s RX 480 and the CPU is roughly equal to an I3 processor. The Xbox One X also has a good amount of RAM 12GB. If consoles continue to improve they are going to get very close to PC specs soon. We would probably see better-looking games and bigger and more immersive worlds as developers get access to more power on consoles.
