Overwatch director talks about queuing by role and the issues it poses

Kaplan the overwatch current director has told Kotaku that the Overwatch community has two different ideas on alleviating this problem. The first one is the current honour-based system that players will adapt to the enemy’s team composition by choosing roles based on their own team, despite wanting to play a different role entirely. The second one is a system that locks the player into specific roles based on their own preference, chosen before the player searches for a game. Kaplan is suggesting pre-made teams would enhance most players’ experiences. Overwatch’s random matchmaking doesn’t particularly help players find teams “I think we need to address all those things at once before we can just get to a role queue,” concludes Kaplan.

By the way, …..

The trailer for Retribution, went online just last week, and it’s full of secrets about the fall of Overwatch as well as the Archives game mode. Retribution goes live tomorrow, April 10.
