A new version of the Nintendo Switch not coming until late 2019 maybe 2020
Don’t expect to see a Nintendo Switch XL anytime soon

Nintendo‘s latest home/portable console the Switch has been doing very well. The console has already sold more than 10 million units and that number is still growing. Both Microsoft and Sony have already released two new versions of their latest consoles and many have been wondering if Nintendo will do the same. Nintendo hasn’t released a lot of new versions of their home consoles but the portable consoles get a lot of new versions throughout the years. Rumors have been going around the web saying that Nintendo is working on a new version of the Nintendo Switch. These rumors got more strength when Nintendo said that they want to expand the Switch’s life cycle.
The Nintendo Switch only has 4 GB of RAM and the other parts aren’t powerful even a game like DOOM doesn’t perform well on the Switch. Of course, the Switch is a tablet so it’s not expected to have the same specs as the Xbox One X but Nintendo could easily increase the RAM to 8 GB. In 2018 8 GB of RAM is a minimum. Nintendo Switch XL or whatever Nintendo wants to call the next Switch is probably going to be released but don’t expect to see it this year or the next year.
It just doesn’t make since for Nintendo to release a new version of the Switch this year. The Switch isn’t that old and if Nintendo releases a new version of the Switch they will probably receive a lot of hate. Nintendo will totally screw over anyone that bought the Switch in 2017 and many players will be sort of forced to buy the new Switch version. I think 2020 or 2021 is the best time for Nintendo to release a new version of the Switch as the people that bought the 2017 version wouldn’t be totally screwed over.
