Nvidia GeForce GTX 1180 & GTX 1170 Graphics Cards release date May Be The Gamescom 2018, Reports say

wccftech is reporting that after details of invites was leaked (via Videocardz) of an NVIDIA event that will be happening close to Gamescom and may be the event we are expecting for the launch of their next-gen GPU lineup GeForce GTX 1180 and GeForce GTX 1170. NVIDIA-GTX-1180-12-nm-FinFET

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang recently told reporters the cards were still “a long time” away. But a couple of new leaks suggest we might see the GeForce GTX 11 series far sooner than that — likely this fall, and perhaps even this August. When Jen-Hsun says the GTX 1180, or GTX 2080, or V80 GTX, or … is going to be “a long time from now” that could be nothing but an attempt to sell all the current orders they have made based on their speculation of mining market. And if more people stop buying the pascal gpus and wait for the next gen, it will come even sooner so the Nvidia machine keeps selling.

According to this video from Brainbean, where a Lenovo product manager lets slip that his new gaming PC will have GeForce 11-series graphics this fall — combined with a report from VideoCardz that claims Nvidia is sending out invites to the press for a possible announcement at the Gamescom conference on Aug. 21.

The Nvidia GTX 1180 is expected to a pretty huge performance upgrade. Nvidia hasn’t announced the GTX 1180’s specs in no way but this rumor is very credible as the specs were spotted in TechPowerUp’s GPU database earlier. The GTX 1180 is expected to be more powerful than the Titan XP a $1,200 GPU. If TechPowerUp’s leak is real then the GTX 1180 is going to have 3,584 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM and 13 Teraflops. The GTX 1080 has 2,560 CUDA cores, 160 TMUs, 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM and 8.7 teraflops.
