The upcoming  i9-9900K is probably going to keep Intel at the top of mainstream CPUs for a while but it may not last after the next AMD Ryzen 2 CPUs come out.

Intel is aiming to dominate 8-core mainstream processor market by the new CPU rumored to be called the Core i9-9900K. The latest news from the Chinese website Coolala, spotted by Wccftech, is that this CPU, which will likely crush the Ryzen 7 2700X in benchmarks, and is set to boost frequency of 5GHz in lightly-threaded workloads using one or two-cores at stock speed, as well as reach 4.7GHz when all cores are boosted too. Two other CPUs will join the i9-9900K, including the Core i7-9700K, with six cores and 12 threads, and is likely a 14nm refresh of Intel’s current Core i7-8700K.

The Core i9-9900K sees the Core i9 brand filter down to the mainstream for the first time, being currently limited to its high-end desktop CPUs starting at the Core i9-7900X and finishing at it’s most powerful desktop CPU, the Core i9-7980XE. This is happening thanks to AMD new Ryzen cpus. The flagship Ryzen 7 2700X costs a huge amount less than the $499 launch price of the Ryzen 7 1800X and not only AMD is pressuring Intel to bring down the prices for high speed cpus, AMD is actually making 8 and even 16 core cpus normal in mainstream market. AMD to release the new Ryzen Threadripper by 32 cores is crazy, no it is not the mainstream but it is bringing the bars high for Intel in every direction. And reports indicate that the 16 core norm is real, AMD seems to be setting an standard of 32 cores in high-end and 16 cores in mainstream CPUs, but not yet a similar response form intel. The upcoming  i9-9900K is probably going to keep intel at the top for a while but it may not last after the next Ryzen 2 CPUs come out.

New reports indicate that the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X  & 2950X are being Launched in Aug 2018. They are AMD 2nd Generation of 12nm Ryzen Threadripper Processors Launching on 13th August. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2000 series processors were officially revealed at Computex 2018. AMD in live demonstrations revealed that the processors will be launching in the second half of 2018. on 13th August 2018, Two Ryzen Threadripper processors to be released:
