The GTX 1160 and RTX 2060 Seem Very Promising

Right now, Nvidia RTX is in control of the high-end gaming market but Nvidia hasn’t done anything with the entry-level GPU market. The RTX 2070, the cheapest RTX GPU will cost you at least $500 so the lower-end gaming market hasn’t been affected by Nvidia RTX. According to the latest rumors, Nvidia is going to release two xx60 series GPUs, RTX 2060 and GTX 1160.

Nvidia to Release RTX 2060 and GTX 1160 Next Month

This may seem a bit shocking but it is rumored that Nvidia is going to release the RTX 2060 and GTX 1160 sometime in mid-January. This rumor seems like it is real as two credible sources have confirmed it to happen, Videocardz and Exprevie. It is rumored that ray tracing is going to be a premium feature saved for RTX but, the Nvidia GTX 1160 is still going to be using the Turning architecture. The GTX 1160 will have the ray tracing cores disabled as it wouldn’t be powerful enough to run games with real-time ray tracing.

If you don’t care about ray tracing, you will be able to buy the GTX 1160 and run your games at 1080p ultra 60 FPS for a relatively low price. The RTX 2070 costs as much as the GTX 1080 and the RTX 2080 costs as much as the Titan XP so we can expect the RTX 2060 to cost around the same price as the GTX 1070. The GTX 1160 will likely cost the same amount as the GTX 1060 as Nvidia wants it to be an entry level GPU.

Nvidia to Capture the Entry-Level Gaming Market

The Nvidia RTX 2060 and GTX 1160 seem very promising. If you are on a low budget, you can purchase the GTX 1160 but if you want ray tracing, you can spend a little more and get your self the RTX 2060. If Nvidia does release the RTX 2060 and GTX 1160 in January, they will have no competition. AMD will have to do something so that they can compete with Nvidia.
