Stronghold Next to Get a Lot of New Features

Firefly Studios has started talking about their next game, Stronghold Next and they have been slowly giving out more and more info about the game. Thanks to a recent video, we have got a lot of info about the next Stronghold game. 

It seems like Stronghold Next is going to be the most detailed Stronghold game that we’ve seen yet. According to Firefly’s Andreas Lostromos, the team is working hard to make the castle look more alive and lively. For the first time in Stronghold, we are going to see stage destruction which will make the game much more realistic. Lostromos also said that all animations are brand new and textures are crisper than older Stronghold games. 

Stronghold Next will feature a historically authentic campaign which is going to be spread across multiple characters and it is going to feature more than 20 missions. Each chapter in the story is going to be centered around a different historical feature. These characters will interact with the player in different ways. There will be the traditional defending and attacking missions but the game will also feature missions that will be centered around the economic aspects of the game. 

According to Stronghold Next’s programmer Matt Smith, the team has been focusing on the castle life to make it seem like a living castle with living people going around and doing their chores. The game is going to feature new units and new mechanics to bring fresh elements to the infamous series. The game will also feature Steam workshop support which will be available around launch. 

It seems like Stronghold Next is going to be the best Stronghold game in the series. Stronghold Next is going to shake up the Stronghold formula as it will feature new settings, new buildings, new units, new mechanics, and more. 

Although we don’t have a release date right now, it seems like the game isn’t far from release as Firefly is finally going to reveal the game early next year.
