AMD Radeon VII Benchmarks Show AMD Rushed the GPU
Radeon VII is Really Rushed

Unfortunatly, AMD didn’t say anything about Navi at CES 2019 but, we did get a lot of info about the world’s first 7nm GPU, the Radeon VII. A while ago we got benchmarks that showed AMD Radeon VII wouldn’t stand much of a chance against Nvidia RTX 2080. Well, the review embargo has finally lifted and we have gotten our hands on real benchmarks for the Radeon VII and, it seems like that AMD seriously rushed the GPU.
AMD Radeon VII Benchmarks
Unfortunatly for AMD, the Nvidia RTX 2080 performs better than the Radeon VII in most games especially in 1080p. The thing is that Nvidia has ray tracing and DLSS technology so, the Radeon VII has to perform a lot better than the Nvidia RTX 2080 so that it can compete. As you can see in the benchmarks here, the Nvidia RTX 2080 surpasses the Radeon VII in most games while running at 1080p but, at 4k the Radeon VII competes with the RTX 2080.
AMD Rushed Radeon VII
According to many tech reviewers such as “JayzTwoCents,” the AMD Radeon VII had many issues while they were running their benchmarks. According to Jay, in the media driver, the fan curve didn’t even work which means that the card ran a lot hotter then it was supposed to. Also, some games such as Ghost Recon Wildlands kept crashing and some games just gave the user a black screen. Jay even went ahead and asked AMD for better drivers and the driver they gave him supposedly fixed some small issues and the fan curve but, a lot of the issues were still there. The thing is that AMD knew about all of these issues and they were working hard to fix these issues. If the Radeon VII had a bunch of issues a week or two before it came out, it’ll probably still have a lot of issues when it is released which shows that AMD is trying to get it out as fast as possible.
