The Nintendo Switch Pro Isn’t Going to Happen | Here is Why (Leaks and Rumors)
The Switch Pro Isn’t Going to Happen

The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular Nintendo consoles of all time. The console was loved by gamers when it was released and it outsold Nintendo’s expectations by millions. The console was able to sell more consoles in a few months then the Wii U did in all of its lifetimes. Nintendo continued the tradition of releasing revisions for successful consoles with the Nintendo Switch Lite and the latest rumors claim that we may get our hands on a more powerful Nintendo Switch Pro.
Nintendo Switch Pro Rumors
According to a somewhat credible source on Twitter, claims that there are references to the Switch Lite and a new Nintendo Switch console in the console’s code. Although the Nintendo Switch has support for 4GB of RAM, the rumors claim that the new Nintendo Switch console or the Switch Pro is going to support up to 8GB of RAM and the new model is said to support LPDDR4X DRAM which means that it’ll offer a boost in battery life. Rumors also claim that the Switch Pro’s GPU is going to feature faster boost clocks which means that it’ll be a little bit more powerful than the Switch.
Now that the first Mariko based Switch has finally been announced, I believe it’s a good time to provide some insight on what has been going on inside the Switch’s HOS regarding new hardware.

Nintendo Switch Pro Not Happening?
The Nintendo Switch Pro is definitely not going to happen the way that rumors claim it will. If the Switch Pro is most likely not going to feature 8GB of RAM or far superior specs. If you look at Nintendo’s past console revisions, you’ll notice that none of them feature superior or weaker specs. Some features may have been removed but, all of Nintendo’s console revisions mostly perform the same. A bigger Nintendo Switch may happen but, it’s still unlikely as the Nintendo Switch is already big enough that it’s easily played by adults and children and if it gets any bigger, the console will lose a lot of portability. Nintendo has never released a revision of their home consoles that are more powerful then the base consoles so, the Switch Pro is most likely not happening.
