Nintendo Switch’s 4.0 patch has been released, and it adds a long-awaited feature. With the new update, players will be able to take 30-second clips from their games. The update also adds file transfer to a new console, and pre-orders are available on the eShop for certain games.
Unfortuanatly right now this feature works with only four games Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2. If you press and hold the screenshot button, it will record the last 30 seconds of gameplay will be recorded and saved to the album. Players will be able to trim the video and post it to Facebook or Twitter.
The other feature added by the 4.0 update is data transfer to a new console. According to Nintendo’s support page, This feature lets you move eShop purchases, save data, and profile to another Switch console. You will be able to choose which user you want to be moved to the new console. The account has to be connected to the account in the source console, not the console that you are going to transfer your files too.

Nintendo consoles have lacked video recording feature for a long time. The Switch is making Nintendo catch up to other consoles (feature wise.) Nintendo Switch’s online subscription will cost money, but it will give players classic games each month and probably better online experience than Wii U’s. Many gamers are criticising Nintendo for its voice chat app. To use voice chat on the Switch gamers will have to download the app on a Smartphone and use it to talk. Right now other online features such as Splatoon 2 parties are only available from the app.
